Forums - Gaming - Final Fantasy VII is annoying, I hope HD remake is not

I remember playing Xenogears and popping my CD tray so that I wouldn't have random encounters lol. That game was ridiculous at times with them.

The worst was when you were platforming with the crappy camera and controls, and when you jumped you got a random encounter which afterwards made you fall. It made the Tower of Babel an insanely annoying dungeon. Still the best RPG on PS1 though and one of my top five. Now that is a game that would benefit from a remake (fully fleshed out abridged content on disc 2.)

Im confused you dislike FF VII cause of random encounters, but like FF X a game that has random encounters in the same frequency every FF game before it ever had. Im not sure I follow the logic here.

Yea that did suck. I agree that Xenogears and Chrono Trigger or Secret of Mana are more deserving of a remake than FFVII. Heck I still want more Vagrant Story. Oh well.

All three excellent games. If I were to choose a Final Fantasy to have a remake it would be VI, I loved the PS1 CG sequences and dreamed of having a full 3D version of the game.

IX would also be another good choice, but that game has honestly aged VERY well so I don't know how much a remake would benefit it.

Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana have aged very well so I'm not sure they need a remake (I'd still buy them if they existed mind you). I think that Xenogears (like FFVII) would be benefit a lot from a makeover.

Signature goes here!

Not everyone can enjoy all games so if you didn't like the original, I don't think you will be impressed by the remake...

I think that a Chrono Trigger remake would be awesome or a sequel in that series would be better.

As someone who never played FF7 when it was new, I really want them to make it a modern jrpg. :/
Yeah, everyone can't win, no matter what they do.
