Forums - Gaming - Fallout 4 pc mods will work on xboxone

Fallout 4 mods made with the PC version will work on the Xbox One version.

Bethesda Game Studios chief Todd Howard took to the stage during Microsoft's Xbox E3 2015 press conference to say mods created on the PC will be able to be transferred, played and shared for free on Xbox One.

Meanwhile, Microsoft announced Fallout 4 includes a free copy of Fallout 3 on Xbox One.

Its great. I think it will work like little big planet 3 user generated contents. Microsoft put a solid show featuring these nice options.

That Windows 10 tho

it is an interesting announcment but i'm not sure if it will matter in the end.

pc moders (imo) won't give a shit about modding the xbox version of the game. some mods might be able to run on both but many won't. for instance,.. mods about applying higher quality textures just won't work on xbox which can't be upgraded to be more powerful.

so the question to me is,.. will a new xbox-centric mod community get created?

dunno.

That's pretty neat

What they really need to do is allow Minecraft mods to work on Xbox One. That would have been a bigger deal to a lot of people.

This could be huge if windows 10 in the XB1 allows you moddify the game's directories(which I don't think would happen.)

Possibly only simple mods will be able to be used, since some of them are really complicated and might even corrupt your save files if installed incorrectly. It's still a nice feature to have though mods can really improve games.

But will this work? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WdpO_q2dhU
Or visual enchancements? Highly doubtful. It's not doable.
At least mods that only build using existing assets without touching them should work.

well yes they would work, just with a framerate hit.
I'm sure you could upgrade selected textures without taking any hit. Wood texture here, gun texture there etc.
Many Skyrim and Fallout 3 PC mods were already possible on 360 as well. There wasn't a legal way to do it though. Nothing beats official support with Mod Manager and so on.

Do we know the framerate of Fallout 4 btw. ? If it's 60FPS, then there's a lot of potential. ini-modding and that kind of stuff.

Is a mod manager confirmed.
