I can afford that 25 bucks, it's just I can buy 2 or 3 e-shop games with that money. Even if I'd like to play with Ryu, 6 bucks for this character + a stage I don't really like... It's abussive. I'd buy a 15/20 $ season pass to get all the content they are planning to release, like I did in Hyrule Warriors, but the prizes are way too high... If they are planning to release more characters, all the post-content could be more expensive than the actual game. And I'm not complaining about the game content at launch, it was massive, I just don't feel like they are doing it right with the post-content. |
I could easily buy around 8 games in the wild for $25. I would much rather have those 8 games than a DLC pack.

It reminds me of people who buy printers and complain about ink.. you bought a $300-$350 wii-u, bought smash anywhere from $40-60, but adding on more content a year later for $20 is too much?? unless you're a kid who doesn't have a job, there's no way you can say you can't afford this, when you've already spent so much (on a luxury item) in the first place. someone enlighten me please |
It was either $60 or 440 for 51 characters, 40+ stages, and several modes and challenges, plus the game system itself. It is now $4-5 for a single character.
Affordability and perceived value are two very different things.
Anyway, back on topic I'll be buying Ryu, and considering Dreamland 64, but I'll certainly be skipping the rest. It's just not worth it, in my opinion.

Yeah, I was only talking about full prize games, you can actually buy with that money 10 games if you get advantage of sales. And it's 10 games vs a DLC pack. So it's not a fair fight.

I was agreeing with you. I think that the prices are a rip off, and they are being rewarded for it with massive sales...which will only make it worse in the future for us.
I'm buying Ryu, Roy, and getting the Kirby level... That's going to crush my wallet for relative content, though.

I'll get all three characters and the stages when I get paid...
Ryu comes with a stage, so I guess I get why he's more expensive...
Have a nice day...

Yes, that's what worries me. If costumers run and buy that DLC content with that prize... We can expect more over-prized DLCs in the future. Bussiness as usual.
Decided to make a thread that will help Smash Wii U or 3DS only owners to split the cost of the Roy, Ryu, Lucas and Kirby 64 stage:

Here's an example of how it works:

System: 3DS Will Buy: Lucas + Roy |
Since downloading Ryu + kirby 64 for Wii U and 3DS cost $10 as well as Lucas + Roy, Wii U or 3DS only owners can split the cost evenly. If Nintendo sends us codes for downloading for both systems, we can exchange the codes later
