No, the gap has widened and continues to widen every week. Do you know what 'stagnant' means?
The PS5 Exists.

Seriously, you guys, I know you may not think so or agree with it, but a lot of people are not thrilled with what Sony has offered us with the PS4 so far. To a lot of us, it a hasnt nearly lived up to how they supported their past consoles
You guys need to just relax, the PS4 has been very underwhelming for a lot of us, and we are still waiting for them to drop bombs. That's all this thread is saying. You may not agree with that feeling, but A LOT of us do feel that way.

I have no problem with your position on this at all. As a PS4 fan you're not satisfied and as a PS4 fan I'm more than satisfied. It's perfectly reasonable to hold your subjective view up against my subjective view and exchange thoughts. It is NOT a subjective view to suggest the PS4 has 'no games' and it certainly isn't a subjective view that it's rather odd the console with over 90 less games never ever gets a thread like this when the PS4 gets dozens. THAT'S the point and the reason Sony fans are bored with the whole thing.
The PS5 Exists.

Titanfall was excellent but hardly comparable to the juggernaut that is Halo.
In sales, anyway. |
Halo sales-wise and as a franchise is much much bigger than Titanfall, one of the most iconic franchises in Gaming
The difference is MS stopped supporting the XB360 after 2011. Case in point. Gran Tourismo 6. NO WAY MS would have supported the old gen console with that big of an IP after the new console had launched. Had Sony shifted GT6 to PS4 it would have made the PS4 lineup look better, but they are dedicated to supporting their consoles until the end.
MS has shown, once they are ready to move on they drop the old like a rock and move on to the new. They killed the XBOX after just 4 years (really after 3, they were already shifting dev priorities).
This is giving MS more exclusives (yet they still feel they need to go out and buy them) early on while Sony is just now abandoning the PS3 (pretty much). The fact Sony had such a great start is a big deal, because their philosophy has always been to finish strong and carry momentum into the next gen.
The XB peaked with Halo 2, XB360 with Halo 3 (although I do agree Kinect gave it a second later in life peak with the 360). XB1 will peak this fall with Halo and other exclusives (they may even pull even in NA in consoles sold).

I disagree about the 360 peak. To me, it seemed most popular between cod:mw and mw2.
I know Halo 5 will shift plenty of X1's, but I am concerned about where halo is at right now. Halo 4 sales were 2-3 million less than 3, despite a much bigger install base.
It will be very interesting to see the hardware sales of Halo 5 launch week.
PS, PS2, Gameboy Advance, PS3, PSP, PS4, Xbox One

Halo 5 also has to compete with the juggernaught that is Black Ops III and Battlefront. Halo really needed to come out this spring to maximize its affect.
