So psyched for XC:X and Persona 5! Haven't gotten to The Witcher 3, Bloodborne or DA: I yet, but very soon. Yeah, it's a good gen for RPG lovers.



It'll be awhile before I figure out how to do one of these. :P

It'll never come if all you're interested in is a few specific games. Like FF XVI...what about FF XV first?

Besides that, there's Persona 5, Tales of Zestiria and Berseria, Kingdom Hearts 3, Star Ocean 5, XCX which you listed, Dark Souls 3 likely to be announced next week. And not this gen, but there's also Trails of Cold Steel 1+2 coming on PS3/Vita. It's looking pretty good.

I'm not that picky. I would also go for Baten Kaitos 3, Valkyrie Profile 3 or Resonance of Fate 2. I'd even take a Drakengard 3 port.

Ditto. RPGs were always there. Just sometimes more forgotten in certain gens more so than others.

Well it started off pretty bleak, but between Dragon Age and Witcher we've definitely gotten some great games now, and with games like Deus Ex, Mass Effect, and possibly Dark Souls 3 hopefully not too far off my needs are definitely being taken care of. Hell....if Witcher 3 was the only RPG this whole gen then it would still be worth it to me.

yep, bloodborne followed by TW3, was a good combination. Might continue with DA:I or dark souls 2. Haven't decided yet.

It may sound a little strange but I think WRPGs are too open, I like the JRPGs better because they are more linear.

Well the world would be boring if everyone liked all the same things right? I personally enjoy that openness, but I can certainly appreciate that some people prefer a more tightly structured experience, and there are definitely games of that nature I have high regards for as well.

I'm not a fan of RPG's so maybe that's why I haven't found any really great non nintendo game so far this gen.

Star Ocean, Final Fantasy, Persona, Shin Megami Tensei, Tales, Fire Emblem, Monster Hunter, Pokemon, and what's yet to be announced! Seems pretty good, same as last Gen with all the already mentioned games, plus Lost Odyssey, Eternal Sonata, The Last Remnant, Resonance of Fate, Arc Rise Fantasia, The Last Story.

And of course Xenoblade Chronicles X.

Don't care about western RPGs to be honest.
