Polygon: Rockstar 4 preview

A few of my more effervescent, more gregarious, more alive colleagues in game journalism are on stage "rocking out" to The Killers. We are on the rooftop of a pricey hotel in Santa Monica, at a press event organized by Rock Band 4's developer and publisher Harmonix.

I'm standing at a safe distance, drinking fizzy water, eating puff pastry canapes and chatting to another colleague about politics in the Philippines. I'm having an OK time.

I'm supposed to be focusing my attention on Rock Band 4, but there's more chance of Ferdinand Marcos leaping onto that stage than there is of me mounting the boards, swinging a guitar strap around my neck and yelling "whooooooo."

I don't care about rock music. I dislike crowds and I dislike loud noises. I don't do public performances, excepting "Toastmasters" which I enjoy from time-to-time, along with half a dozen accountants, schoolteachers and self-improvement nutters.

what the fuck did i just read.

fuck it,. whatever. i literally played rock band beatles and 3 last night and realized it's been too long and i really miss playing these game. i'm excited about 4 and haters can just STFU cause i'm not listening.

I never understood why they ever went away in the first place, I still play them all the time.

Of course GH was my thing because RB's publishers are fucking morons but Im much more interested in RB4 than GHL because Im not exactly a fan of the new GH controller.

because there was a year in there where between rockband and guitar hero there were like 8 games released.  it oversaturated the market and then kind of collapsed in on itself, unsold stock of controllers cost them millions of dollars.   ..basically killed by milking.   hopefully that doesn't happen again but i'm going to buy at least 1 game on ps4 so that i can fully retire my ps3.  i'll buy more than 1 if they are smart about releases,.. build the next game as a platform.

What a bizarre article. Not only have they sent the wrong person to the event, the person couldn't even be bothered to do their job and just report on the facts of what the product is, but would rather stand around talking to someone else about politics... shocking.
