So ASDA is like north America's Wal-Mart? The wiiu gets plenty of space here in Texas walmarts. Atleast it's not going away anytime soon here.

I never said it would aid the lifespan, just have no impact on lessening it. And why would retailers in other parts of Europe, the US and Japan give a damn how it sells at ASDA? If it sells for them, what do they care that ASDA does with their shelf space. If retailer A does badly but retailer B does well, they aren't going to pull product just because retailer A didn't do well. That would be stupid. As for Vita, retailers pulled the product because it didn't sell in their own stores, not the competitors.
Hell, local UK retailers they probably love this news because it means more sales at their own stores. |
The problem is that is not selling well in any retailer and ASDA situation will not add more sales to them. Wii U is not doing good in any retailer worldwide.

You seem to keep forgetting ASDA were not realling selling the console anyway. They announced this 2 years ago. This is not new. What worldwide damage to Wii U sales is this really going to do? |
Many other retailers following them taking off Nintendo products considering the same abysmal sales.
Oh, and BTW, this was the UK for the Wii. NOt exactly a small limited market for Nintendo:
On December 12, 2006, sales data analysis firm Chart-Track and Nintendo confirmed with several press outlets in the United Kingdom that the Wii had become the fastest selling video game console in the region's recorded history, selling 105,000 consoles in its opening weekend, trumping the previous record holder, Xbox 360, which posted sales numbers of 70,000 units.[46] Nintendo announced on the following day that the Wii had sold 325,000 units across Europe in its first two days of sale, making it the fastest selling console across the entire European continent.[47]

And Wii launch from 9 years ago has what to do with Wii U sales today? |
Another proof that the UK Market is big, bigger than France and Germany, and lack of sales affect greatly on Wii U numbers while the ASDA situation affects Wii U perception even more.

Not really, If the wii u sells 100 units a week and asda consisted of 30 of thouse 100 units, then thouse people wanting a wiiu will jusst get it somewhere else, hence, when one big outlet stop selling it, the others will see an increase of sales, making them less likely to abandone the console. One company forgeting it does not diminish the demand, no matter how small. If anything it will deiminish the availability of the product, incrising demand for the product.
The rest really proves nothing, as we have seen that the actual oposite is hapening.
It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

Or some of those 30 will change their perception of the product and decide to not buy one.

Why? The store where they pick up the product does not influence people unless they have an offer or higher prices or something. A products perception come mainly from the producers who advertise the product and from word of mouth.

That works in a world where consumers doesn't get their decision affected by other elements. As I mentioned earlier, this is the same case as Vita.
