Its an awful example and doesnt support what we're saying at all, based on what u just said than Mario 3D World is a platformer, a puzzle game, a water-dinosaur riding simulator, a cat simulator, a Goomba/Koopa killing simulator, etc. See how ridiculous it sounds when u act like each individual task in a game is its own game?

The point is, based on looks and assets, in mario galaxy you could perfectly go and hop into a kart, and start a race in a circuit, just like OP is suggesting and for any other company (not nintendo) that would seems normal, you would not thing its 2 games but nintendo goes and makes 5 games with the same assets and sells them and you guys see it as different games just becuase nintendo decided to split the gameplay.

Ya it wouldn't be unusual for a Mario platformer to have a level similar to Mario Kart but for a Mario platformer to have 30+ racing levels that also let's u play as 30+ different characters? Does that sound plausible to u? If it does than ur a lost cause.

Tell me the truth, do all those 30 characters play different anough to make a difference? or are they skin swaps in most cases? I say that becuase you sound as if it was tekken and each knew a different martial art.

So instead of answering my question, u answered with a question urself.

no, if am correct and is just skin swaps, that answers your question, yes mario kart can be part of mario galaxy because having 30 characters is irrelevant, if not, and every character has an important difference when you choose them to race, then im wrong, and is silly to think that mario kart can be part of mario galaxy as a simple in game minigame.

U ignored the 30+ levels part. What ur saying is the equivalent of saying Gran Turismo should be a minigame in Uncharted.

You just proved the biggest complain about nintendo and the reason they are not selling, their most popular games are so similar they feel like different playmodes of the same game : /

Splatoon, SSB and Mario Kart sure feel the same!

Stop, your 2008 picture quality hurts my eyes

What are you even talking about, GTA V is one game. If GTA V would just be about doing one of those countless things you can do, then no one would buy it. People want just really good games that are worth the money, and a bit of variety sometimes. Nothing more, doesnt need to be griddy and realistic looking or  it doesnt need to be childish disney looking. Shouldn't matter at all

Im talking about the fact that if you are in for example mario galaxy and would be able to get in a kart, no one would be surprise, it would just be a new gameplay mechanic of mario galaxy, thats how much their games look the same, look at the yoshi/kirby game, their games are too similar, NOTE: I think they make good games, what im saying is that if you buy nintendo you get one flavor, and thats it, a handfull of good games per year where 90 % share assets is a hard sell.

Thats bullshi*. Wii also shared assets, look how many that sells, 3DS is like the king of shared assets and look at that. People dont care at all if they all have a cartoony look, because every one of them imo if its not from the same series look completely different. Also you could say the same thing about XBOX and Playstation, when i think of those company i only think of call if duty , assassins creed and realistic looking games.

My eyesight became worse as a result of reading your post. Reported.

It was in higher resolution for me when I posted it, but now it looks like 144p lol. Strange.

Ohhhhhh it's only the gameplay that is different, it's not like that's an important aspect or anything..........

most of the assets overlap, sound, textures, art style, etc.

What a load of bull...

Spla toon has a very unique art style that is totally different from Mario games. You might want to actually play these games and you'd see the difference quite clearly.

Splatoon, at its best, has some of the best graphics on the Wii U. Some areas look a bit low detailed though, I can't stand Octo Valley personally.

Not at all, those games have completly different graphics, and more importantly, story, which give a context. Try to examplain mario kart? you cant, GTAV and Drake have different assets, graphics stily and context, so it not the same. About the 30+ levels, all I can ask is, is there more difference than a theme? but still you did not answer about the character relevance.

"f its not from the same series look completely different" not true, KD and Mario share style, Yoshi and Kirby are shamelessly sharing assets.

"Wii also shared assets, look how many that sells," sold, not sells, they are losing clients becuase they are pumping out too similar games thats the point.
