Forums - Gaming - And I thought Mushroom men was going to be a kiddy game.

Really, I did. you're a mushroom running around? It just sounded like a very kid friendly platformer. The kind of game that's made specifically for parents to buy for their kids.

But IGN just did a preview on it and well... It actually looks like it might be a deep and... mature outing. The humour is dark, and instead of beating up cartoony enemies, you get to kill realistic rabbits. It's this kind of animal cruelty simulator that Jack Thompson will blame the next zoo shooting on.

Edit: Why the hell can't I get IGN videos to embed?

IGN says this about it:

Mushroom Men definitely has a sinister sense of humor, but it should end up with an E10+ rating. None of the rabbit deaths were shown. Instead, the camera would cut away to show the mutated vines as onlookers.

But still, dark. I like it. This might actually be a pretty cool game.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.

Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.

Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!

It looks terrible.

Well it's still really early on in development.

I've been looking forward to this game. They have some really talented people working there and I've been anxious to get my hands on this every since I saw the concept art.

It's interesting. Not sold on this yet, but it may surprise.

I wonder why they're showing DS footage.

Exist this game in DS?

You know... the gameplay somehow reminded me of (I think it was) Toy Story 2, which I played as a kid on the pc. In other words, it looked like a nice, fun, but totally redundant platformer. And a little boring to be honest.

I drink your milkshake.

Yeah, i think it sounds interesting. I'll be watching this one as it progresses.
