Forums - Sales - Question about 360 supply constraints.

Just a quick question, and please no flaming.

Has MS given the public an explanation as to why there were supply constraints? It seems that MS says they happened, I just have not heard any news as to why they happened.

No, they want you to think that there is some sort of huge demand surpassing everything else. I honestly bought it for jan, maybe feb, but now it's getting rediculous. I sick of all the PR spin from everyone.

When did Microsoft say that supply issues were continuing now Tird?
It was blatantly obvious in January and most of February to all non-Sony-fanboys.

"We definitely expect we will trail in February as a result of our supply constraints," Greenberg said, adding: "By April, we will be in a very healthy inventory situation."

Translation, we will NOT have a very hearlthy inventory situation until April

I am not saying it's not true. I just want to know if MS has said why? It's not like they couldn't make enough. They just didn't make enough.

I think you guys are reading a bit too much into that.  I assume that he meant that the 360's supply should be healthy (or at least no longer supply constrained) in March, and that it will have built up to a VERY healthy state by April.  And he was most likely pointing this out specifically in reference to GTAIV.

I don't understand why people think that statement means that MS thinks they will be constrained through March.

They mention April and 360 supply specificially for one game that is releasing on the 29th... Maybe you've heard of it before. They also mention "healthy", which is basically their way of saying "this console will be stacked up everywhere for the GTA IV release".

Or check out my new webcomic: http://selfcentent.com/

Guys, we are getting off topic. We have all kinds of threads here at the moment talking about what that statement means, and if MS really was supply constrained. I just want to know in this thread as to why, of if MS has said why.

I actually remember a bunch of non bias Wii fans saying it was BS too.... hm but looks like you need to single out sony.

Did they say they would have unhealthy inventory in March?  Working out supply issues in March never meant out of stock on February 29th (leap year right?) and in stock on March 1.  It meant over the course of March the console will become readily available in more and more areas.
