I think there may be a notion that this game is a hot topic due to the day by day morbid creation of Splatoon threads in this forum.

Hanging out in videogame forums may end up causing a distortion of reality in some.

I really don't think it would resonate that high with most people. Using a more popular franchise like monster hunter dishes would be far better.

They could definitely do a promotion like this in Japan. Would do great for the game and bring fans of it to the restaurant. Win-win.

I was bored and I thought it would be a good idea XD. Imagine a restaurant that's near a game store in Japan, and while people wait for their copy, the restaurant offers a free drink if you show your copy and order something calamari or octopi related. The restaurant gets clients, the costumers get a free drink and a funny story, and Nintendo gets free advertisement (press loves those kind of funny stories).
