Forums - Sony - PS3 or PS4?

Some of you may know, some of you may not, but I do not own a PS3 or 360 and never have.  There definitely are games on the PS3 that I would like to get to play.  This is where the issue comes in.  Would it be better to get a PS3, or skip the generation and get a PS4 and hope that access to the last generation games become available?  To give this topic some more stuff to discuss, I would also like game suggestions.  I am not planning on buying one right away, but I have been thinking about it for a long time now.

Oh, and I do have a PS Vita (if you like, you can suggest PS Vita games as well).

Well, it seems like many PS3 games are just being remastered on PS4, so you may want to opt for that.

I don't have either yet, so it may not be much, but I'm really considering the PS3 over the PS4 at the moment...

I have seen the trend, but the problem is that there's the nagging feeling that more than just a handful of games I want that are on the PS3 wont get remastered versions on the PS4.  I wasn't sure if anyone knew if there were much of any plans to get PS3 games working on the PS4 in some way (like a streaming service), or if the PS4's promise is greater than what I may miss out on with the PS3.

That's a fair point. Another option is to just buy an inexpensive, used PS3 now and just wait a couple years to buy a PS4, since by then it will have a much better library and it will also be cheaper.

Go for the PS3 (they are cheap now) and buy a PS4 later

I was thinking about getting a cheap PS3, but I wasn't sure if I would regret cheaping out on getting a lower HD capacity/used one.  I know there are games coming to the PS4 that I want to play, which is why it's a question for me as to which.  In the end, I have been leaning towards getting a PS3 first, then much later getting a PS4.  My issue is that I don't like spending money on something I didn't have to buy in the first place. lol

Yeah, I'd say get a PS3 now too. Console is cheaper, much larger library of cheaper games available immediately, a cheaper (and maybe collectors edition) PS4 could be right around the corner. There is also word of a 1TB HDD coming.

You could get a PS4 and opt for PS Now.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(
