PS4 will soon outsell it though. By the end of the gen PS4 will have at least 60% of the market's share.

PS4 will surpass it easily.That year head start is the only reason.
The PS4 will obviously overtake it eventually, as it'll have a much, much longer lifespan.
It won't happen for a while, though.

Japan hasn't become irrelevant to console sales. Consoles have become irrelevant to Japan. Japan isn't doing poorly on consoles. Consoles are doing poorly in Japan. Perspective makes all the difference. It's not Japan's problem. They're happy with their situation. The console manufacturers aren't.
