Sega pissed off third parties but that wasn't why Lara didn't appear after TR1 on other consoles:

"In September 1997, Sony Computer Entertainment America signed a deal with Eidos to make console releases for the Tomb Raider franchise exclusive to the PlayStation, preventing the Sega Saturn or the Nintendo 64 from having any Tomb Raider game released for it until 2000, a deal that would prove very beneficial to Sony both in terms of revenue dollars and also in further cementing the PlayStation's growing reputation as the go-to system for must-have exclusive titles.[10]"

I think if you want to discuss this further, do it on my wall or via pn or something. To me the case is closed, TR franchise was locked out of consoles before (and really locked out) because of money.

Im not a big fan of wikipedia links, but I can believe this. This wasnt worse than GTA but its probably one of their more notorious moneyhats of the past.

-> your wall.

This looks really good, SE and CD have done a good job bringing Lara back into the spotlight. I had a blast with the first one. Can't wait to play this one on either PC or PS4. :)

I've promised myself I'd stay away from any TR stuff in the future after that abomination called Reboot, but watching this teaser I again have an urge to smack every last idiot in CD and SE, along with this atrocious actress, for shitting on legacy of Lara Croft.

I'll never understand why people always gotta highlight for everyone which platform they're going to play a game on. Forget timed exclusives, I mean in general even with games that are multiplat from the go, everybody's always posting shit like "can't wait to play this on (insert platform of choice)."

It's making a bigger deal of where you're playing the game than your actual genuine excitement for the game itself, which is just absurd to me. It's even more absurd when you consider that chances are, any regular user here already knows which platform you're gonna buy a game on, given your history.

Lol it's so funny that people think it won't come to PS4. Why would they even say it was timed? People are comparing it to Dead Rising 3 and Ryse but those two games were touted as full Xbox One exclusives and then they came to PC. If it was the same as those two, Rise of the Tomb Raider should be a full Xbox One exclusive.

There isn't even a single post in the entire thread that says so. Not even suggesting it...

Typical trailer but very nice box art. I really loved TR2013 and that's coming from a huge Tomb Raider fan since day 1.

No game or reboot will ever create the same feeling and atmosphere TR1 and 2 were able do do for me. Me and Lara alone, solving the mysteries of old egypt (which I am also a big fan of). The old Lara days are done, as many games of this time. I closed this chapter, went on to TR2013 and didn't even expect a game like the "old".  I was surprised by the game and hope to see gameplay at E3.

I played 1&2 back then. The controls were terrible. It actually made me stop playing them.  I remember that butler lol.

Well, you had to get used to them, sure. But I don't think there were that bad, Resident Evil for example was way worse. I could control Lara very good after a few hours

They were frustrating. I played RE5 and those controls were sluggish and felt outdated.

I do believe I beat the 1st one but when I played the 2nd I'd hoped that the controls would evolve. I was done till the Reboot. My friend told me to try it and I loved it.

After Naughty Dogs shows us the gameplay trailer of Uncharted 4 on Gamescom last year, it's a bit underwhelming especially with just CGI trailer. Eidos could have just shows us real gameplay footage and keep the gameplay trailer at E3.

To me what ND showed us last year at E3 is the same what we got now. I guess at E3 we will really see gameplay from RoTR, not some "in-engine"-trailer.
