Seems like the countdown on the OP readjusts to the timezone the user seeing it is, that's the confusion.

OT: I can't imagine a FFVII remake being announced before FFXV comes out, it just seems like really poor planning.

Despite all the jokes, i do believe TLG is easier to happen then FF7 remake. I also don`t know if SE would announce that in PS conference, since they have their own, or make it an exclusive (at times it looks like SE wants to put FF15 on PC). Unless PS payed for FF7 remake, then anything can happen.

The FFVII rumors must be a ploy to cause disappointment for Sony's conference.

Well, the issue is that I made a deal with God that I would die the day TLG released. I of course expected immortality from that deal, but now Sony's got me worried :/
