I just realized that he was probably talking about the fiscal and not the calender year, even better.

The PS4 needs to diversify its gaming library of genres of it is to keep its superiority in the console race. Right now its competing for almost the same consumer base as Xbox which is the FPS crowd and while they may be the most vocal I absolutely insist they need a more varied line-up of genres in their games. RPGs, JRPGs, Puzzle game, Indies, Adventure games, Racing, everything needs support if it just doesnt want to compete for the FPS crowd. I'd say use RPGs as a focul point, then you will net the Japanese market as well.
For anyone interested in RPGs btw, Konami is having daily Suikoden stream to measure interest and potentially save the Suikoden series by showing that people still care about it. If enough people join in, discuss it and buy the digital releases they may release the games on Steam, make sequals etc.
So please join in at http://www.twitch.tv/konami 3:30 PM Pacific time every weekday and discuss the series or just discover it if you're curious.
Being sparse in just 1st party for one season alone should not be an issue. If it's consistently sparse with nothing to fall back on, then that would be an issue.

But being sparse in 1st party in the systems second year after the first year was already widely considered sparse in 1st party is something that shouldn't be swept under the rug, I got a PS4 because the PS3 has showed me that Sony is capable of putting out great amounts of great games, that even 2 years after the launch of the PS4 I've barely seen a glimpse of that is something that way more people should make a fuss about imo(and I'm not talking about non PS owners who are only doing it so they can trash talk the PS4 and Sony).

Well MS isn't doing any better here.
I wasn't aware that the PS brand ever ran on 1st party TBH, they only did it with the PS3 because 360 was winning at 3rd party during a majority of last gen anyways, at their current sales and hardware MOTO, they don't have to give a shit as much. If you want really good 1st party experience, just get a Wii U on top of a PS4 then you are fine.

That doesn't help anyone owning a PS4, I can't play "MS isn't doing better" ;)

Considering exlusive games aren't simply interchangable, since tastes in games differ, this is also not a helpful solution.

You repeated this in another thread, and dismissed my response with you hadn't heard of the games. So, why continue on with it?

But I think there is plenty to play on the PS4 regardless of "party." And Sony focused on games with the PS4. So there.

That's actually not true, for almsot every 1st party game Sony came out with, there was almost always a 3rd party alternative, the rest was just them copying Nintendo. I only care about The Last of Us 2 ATM though, anythying else matters not.
