You really don't understand...

Taking pics from youtube videos and showing them as proof? Youtube videos are heavily and badly comrpessed. They don't don't properly reflect the picture quality of the game.

If you want to be serious about your constant derailing of this thread which, in case you hadn't noticed, is about PROJECT CARS, then at least use actual direct feed pictures of the games you want to bring up.

of course there is compression and can hurt a little the quality of the videogame, but the screenshots were not taken from youtube(except for the one were alan wake is walking) and this guy used a pc version screenshot instead of the xbox 360 one

This is the 360 version

And this the pc version

the first image is from 360 and the second from pc version

here you can take a look of both versions

http://www.pcgamer.com/alan-wake-screenshot-comparison-360-vs-pc/

This is not just about alan wake graphics but also using the corresponding screesnhots of the 360 version, not the pc one

here are good quality comaprasion videos

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXdgxBZ_iOY

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shBi9jkAE2A

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rsAr5nEtWU

you are telling me that those comparasion videos are using extreme compression on the xbox 360 version on purpose to look bad while the pc version is not using compression?

What, xbox haters or something?

I am not going to explain to you in detail why what you are doing and how you are comparing things and discuss them is unreasonable.

What I will do is remind you that this isn't the place to have such a discussion. This thread is about the uncertain nature of the Wii U version of Project Cars. This isn't the place to discuss Alan Wake and Fatal Frame or engage in a childish console war. So unless you have anything new and reasonable to add to the topic, I am done with you.

Around the Network

I understand that Fatal Frame and Alan Wake were originally introduced to talk about performance benchmarks as related to this thread, but the conversation has since gone off course.

Let's try to get back to the original topic.

Well,  you were the one who asked so there you go and all those pics and videos are legitimate, thats how the game looks 360 and pc. But seeing how can this turn i better stick with the main discussion

Anyways, has anyone tried to reach sligghly mad studios through their forums?

i dont mean facebook or twitter

You're mixing up the words power, capacity and capability, although related they're not the same. Again, like the word generation, you don't get to choose what the words actually mean. The ability to read CDs is a capability or feature that is largely independent of system power. CDs have storage capacity, not storage power. A PC without a DVD drive, isn't less powerful than one with, it's missing a feature. You have made up your own definition of power and said that anyone who disagrees with you is unreasonable, that's not a tenable argument.

As for whether a Megadrive game could look like a PS4, hyperbole that does a disservice to any point you might have actually had.

Continue defining words as you see fit and setting arbitrary conditions to support a position you've already decided upon. Keep doing that and you'll always be right.

You're just using semantics to prove a false point. Power is power. Nobody said it's just about the power to process.

A PC can work without a DVD drive but it can't work without HDD, can it? Or will a PC without any media drive and only 50MB of HDD be able to run 8th gen games (even if it has the best CPU and GPU on the market)? I'm indifferent in regards to the technology used to store data. 5th gen consoles didn't have HDD. Their storage capacity was solely based on media format. That's why N64 texture detail couldn't be as good. And you tell me this has nothing to do with power? It seems that I'm not the one with a strange definition of power.

As for the Mega Drive game, extreme cases reveal a logic's fragilities. Something that you claimed it was about talent (as if it was just about talent) is not. And you conviniently ignored the main point as well as my questions:

"The difference between WiiU and PS4 is the difference of an entire generation. The difference between PS1 and N64 isn't. WiiU's graphics are much more similar to PS3 and X360 than to PS4 and XOne (they even share some of the games). Would you say the same thing about PS1 and SNES / Mega Drive? Or do they share the same games?"

Although I challenge some definitions (which seems to be a sin, since the world is so perfect and the evolution is over) I'm not necessarily right all the time. But if my main points are not challenged and my questions get unanswered, maybe I'm not that wrong...

People getting away with bullshit like this says a lot about this forum.

Cry me a river all you want, the wii u, ps4 and x1 are all quite ahead of ps360 and are in the same gen both power and time wise.

Explain this, how can wii u be from another gen if: ps360 standard = 540p 30fps <<<<<< Wii U standard = 720p 60fps + much better graphics than ps360 < x1 standard = 900p 30fps + slightly better graphics than wii u < ps4 standard = 1080p 30fps + slightly better graphics than wii u.

You are a simple hater, nothing more.

Poor WiiU, it just doesn't get a break. Considering launch title ran around 720p, I don't think that's such a big deal. But under 30 fps, yea, that's just not going to work.

I would think they could just drop the number of players or a few other tweaks, cut back the game, and run a 'lite' version.

How well do people think it would sell on the WiiU?

it would sell terrible

Any reason why?  It doesn't have any direct competition does it?

The only thing it has to comete with is the ever popular but more cartoony Mario Kart.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

What's going on in this thread? Are people comparing a 2010 Xbox 360 release to modern Wii U games?

Well let me get on topic...

The primary reason Project Cars might skip Wii U is because of abysmal sales of the hardware and 3rd party software. They want to cut their losses. A 360 and PS3 release makes more sense.

are you kidding? have you seen the sales of non Ninty games on the system?

I dont understand the whole competition thing. Plenty of FPSs release all the time and while they all dont do COD numbers they still do respectable. So that whole competition is a fallacy the type of person who wants this game has a system to play it and it aint Ninty.

well, there isnt that much difference between the wii u sales and xbox one so i dont think sales are the issue, then again xbox one is likely to have more potential customers for project cars as its community may be made of of people who bought the system for these kind of games. But then again Mario Kart for wii u  has sold more than half of the installed consoles, so...
