Forums - Gaming - For all 360 Gamers, do you care about GTAIV Episodic Content?

Not at all. Game play is most important.

The DLC will not just be missions.. remember MS paid $25 million per episodes. You're talking about an entire expansion packs.

How much will it cost? Not sure.. I'm hoping its not more then $20

I'll get it as long as it ins't too expensive. If they charge $40+ then I'll probably walk away.

But at least I'll have a choice, unlike the PS3 version (PS3 isn't getting Episodic content in 2009)

^ no surprise coming from a 360 fanboi

Even now ppl are still posting misinformation on the GTA DLC. There was an interview posted in here about a month ago stating that the DLC is akin to the size of a whole nother game. Meaning its not just "extra missions" and "weapon upgrades" but new areas to explore.

OT: Hell yah

I think that M$ put 50 million$ on the table for just ONE thing:

People who don't have an HD console yet, and who are looking for GTA IV (I one of those type of people) MUST prefer to buy an Xbox than a PS3 to play the game.

So, i don't think they sell DLC at 40 or 50$. I think the opposite: it will be very cheap an very incitative, like 10 or max 15$.
I thing the DLC will not be only some mission and vehicules, I think it will be more like a whole new city, in any case, something big.

M$ don't target to make benefit by selling DLC. It has to be THE big argument to convice people who hesitate between the to consoles.
The spen 50 millions$ to SELL THEIR SYSTEM.

This stategy can have a big effect. I'm usualy a PS3 fanboy (moderated) but if the DLC is like I think, I will buy the Xbox and not a PS3. A lot of my friend are in the same situation.

This game can be the key of the HD console's war.

sorry for my english, I'm french :)

Exclusive DLC for GTA IV? Yes, I do care about it.

I have gone on record saying that, all things being equal, I would choose the version of GTA IV with the DLC. As it stands, I don't own a PS3, so I'm counting my blessings that Microsoft was willing to drop a ton of cash for extra content.

Jeez. Do we HAVE to have this argument every day?

The DLC matters to some, and not to others. We won't be able to get a real consensus as to whether or not it's factored sales, because some people may buy it on 360 just because it's the only console they have, and some may buy it on the PS3 because it may be the only console they have.

About all this thread is going to bring is a ban or two.

@CaptainPrefrences

I have a hard time imagining the expansion packs costing anything anywhere near where you expect. They will probably be under twenty dollars, and closer to fifteen dollars. I have never heard of expansion content on any platform running at those prices. That far exceeds consumer tolerance an expansion should never near the price of the original game. I think someone is feeding you a serious load. You should close your mouth before it starts to shoot out of your ears.

We have no measure of what the expansion content entails or how it will intertwine with the games inherent content. All expansion purchases are judgment calls based on perceived worth. For instance a few new missions and a couple new weapons probably isn't worth a purchase, but if the game get new multiplayer modes, half a dozen exotic weapons, a couple dozen more detailed missions, and a plethora of entertaining gimmicks it might be worth a purchase.

Right now we know very little of the game itself. So we know nothing about the expansions. So it is next to impossible to make a judgment call. I am excited by the prospect, because Rockstar usually delivers compelling experiences so I expect a certain level of quality out of their expansions.

Anyway your deluded if you think Microsoft is going to charge that much for the expansions. The game should sell seven million copies in short order, and at fifteen dollars a download. The expansions only need to sell a little over one and a half million to reclaim the original cost. So Microsoft has a lot of icing to work through even if the expansion goes for ten dollars a download they still probably have ample room to make massive money.

Everyone that has a PS3 are moaning about how DLC doesn't really matter. I find it funny.

so do you care about dlc? will you be getting it? if i still had my 360, i would prolly buy 1 episode..

heres some downsides to the dlc that i found on n4g, THAT I DO NOT SUPPORT.

- ps3 episodic content coming in 2009.

-people wont really care, tehy will be to occupied with blasting cops at free will.

-if the dlc is really big as ppl say it is, it will rpolyl take up most of the sace on ur 20gb hdd.

-going to cost about 45 bucks (i thought 360 used ms points?)

-episodic content are just missions, not to make teh city as big as sandreas, or vice city.

so to all 360 owners, do yo ureally give a shit about this content? i think you should take advantage of it.

Brother, them grapes must really be sour.
