Did brawl have reveals like this?  I never paid attention, but I also remember mk 2 or 3 also had reveals in gamepro years back.

Seeing how SFIV was based on SFII's approach and built on it with mechanics based on the games that came after it I assume that SFV will be based on Apha's approach and developed in the same way. Never really had the chance to get fully into the Alpha series, only fully explored the SFII and SFIII series.

Brawl did.  They had reveals for Sonic and Snake.  Maybe a few others. Don't remember MK doing it though it may very well be the case.

While  It's annoying that they make multiple versions of the same release... it's the only franchise Capcom hasn't fucked up. It's really more about the journey with SF. You want to get the in on the online action while it's hot. The title loses steam after a few years and -somewhat- loses the fun factor. But at the end of the day it's all about the fun.

About the releases they need to do that due competition.

You can't change the game mechanics/balance with updates because you broke the competition community in that way... so you release a new big version that is required for new tournaments.

From what I know SFV happens after SFIV and before SFIII 3rd... that means Bison is really old.

BTW Bison is dead in SFIII 3rd... so SFV can't be after it.

Bison is essentially the Captain Ginyu of Street Fighter....who knows if he's dead. Akuma killed him in SF2, but he just switched bodies
