The ending (and you)

I agree with the article, I hate complainers. Why can't you people swallow the facts and accept the general consensus? Just say it's awesome and keep your filthy thoughts to yourself.

That's totally not the point that was made. Try harder.

stupid nintendo fan!!! go back and play mario!!!

but back on topic, I disagree I found all the praise that TLOU has gotten and is well deserved; coming from a RPG fan, I haven't seen a better crafted story; along with probably the best VO's I've ever heard.

The only apart I would agree with you is the combat can get a little stale, though playing TLOU for the _th time I can basically stealth the whole game and know were most of the ammo/ingredients are.

and has a surprisingly good multiplayer

Underrated game, in my opinion.

Underrated? really .-.

Rare game that made me forget I was in a game and fully empathized with the characters. Normally I do "gamey" stuff to mess with AI or character animations, here I was totally absorbed in the world and atmosphere making the tension real and the story have weight. What it does well, it does better than any game I have ever played.

Obviously there will never be a work of art that everyone loves or agrees on. We come from different backgrounds so part of our experience is shaped by that. Why do I find a joke funny you do not or why do I not cry when you do? We will never be able to have a fully "objective" view of something and its quality. Something has qualities or traits and we have views if those are positive or negative. For example I tend to dislike most open world games as leads to bland level design, others adore them for the sense of freedom. Neither is right, but it is good to know our own prejudices in regards to the characteristics a work possesses.

Just let people complain over a silly ending and learn to swallow their opinions. I for one think a choice in the ending would have been a good idea. Is my point of view incorrect? How can you define that?

The gameplay is solid, but nothing out of the ordinary and in some cases…kind of boring if I'm being honest. Maybe is just me that I tend to like more action type shooters like Borderlands or Bioshock, but in the Last of Us there was nothing that made me say: "Wow, this is really fun to play!". It was good, and definitely enough to keep me playing till the end. The crafting system was also very good, and aside from the smoke bombs, I found all items to be useful (which is something games tend to lack).

 isnt meant to be fun

Then what is the point of a shooter/stealth game?

If I wanted to play something that isn't fun, but has a good story, I would play a Visual novel.

Believe it or not, entertainment and fun are not the same thing and aren't required to go together.

A good book isn't "fun", but it was still a good read, a work of art such as the scream, isn't "fun" but can still be enjoyed and appreciated.

A game does not need to be "fun" to be enjoyable, regardless of genre.

Ofcourse it is.

people also celebrate war  what now?  10 out of 10 means pefect. If the framerate drops to sub 30 even once = not perfect.

If the gameplay is flawless yes. Its a GAME so the only thing of real importance is gameplay the rest is just added extra. (that being said Mario Galaxy for example has camera/control flaws. They invert when you let go of the analog stick etc... so this is also not a 10/10 game.) The 10/10 shit is just clickbait nonsense that has to stop already.

Tetris for example is a 10/10 game as far as I know. Pentominos would be way to complicated. Tetronimos are perfect. The game design is superb and its fun. Visuals show you exactly as much as you need to see etc.

You dont only judge a game compared to other games because not everyone played every game. It does not matter if you did. So e.g NSMB U getting a worse score than NSMB even tho NSMB U is the better game does not make sense and every review site that gave it a worse score should be out of business because they dont understand what a review is or what scores are supposed to mean. (its also not plausible that every website has its own score system that then for whatever reason is thrown into the metascore. (btw I also think school does not work because I can be the best one in my class and get an A yet I am worse than someone else in another school who just gets a B because he is not the best in his class. We need a global score system as long as we dont have that every individual score is just nonsense.)

If a game has no gameplay flaw (the last of us' framerate getting in the way of controls is a flaw) it cant be a perfect game. TLoU on Ps4 is much much better than TLoU on PS3 but the review scores dont show it (why not? make it 11/10 then your fault for giving a not perfect game 10/10 in the first place) The PS3 version is a joke compared to the PS4 version the controller alone makes the PS4 version superior.

It is. Because that's not what the game is about. Joel isn't an avatar of you. You are playing the game through his motives and feelings, not yours. Suddenly giving the player a choice would have clashed with the very focused idea ND had in mind.
