It's still missing that one score of 6 or lower to really get this thread going. |
Or that one 9-9.5

Considering how few 'original' shooters we've had so far this gen (and the highest rated ones being remasters), that particular bar has been set pretty low. Regardless, the end score seems good enough. Should settle in the 78 - 83 range. |
Original AND enjoyable.
Yes the score is pretty good after all, dissapointing, but not very much.
Fair enough. Actually pretty good for a New IP and a 3rd person shooter that isn't the cinematic type. Gilgar hates it though.

Both of these scores have already been handed out though...
81 is actually a little better than I expected which is nice. Seems like complaints stem from a lack of content and whilst that will be improved, you can only review what's in front of you at the time.

Cod and Battelfield are the best shooters of this gen. Doesn't mean much to beat these games in creativity and enjoyability. |
Giggles... what happend to shooters? Once a proud genre highlighted by Quake and Unreal Tournament now dominated by mediocre games :<

No, not really. Games should come finished to the market. If it has enough content and gets free updates, then that's great, but Splatoon only has 5 maps and like 2 multiplayer modes. That is obviously not that much. Releasing half finished games should not be encouraged. |
I see the point. But I think Nintendo did it to not have the drought bigger, which in the wider sense helps the console.
Basically you can wiat until everything is there in 2 months during a month where most people go on holiday, or play it earlier get better and unlock stuff ready for more content. Depends on what you want I guess. (inb4 ninty releases second half of single player where then I would rage.)

I agree. As nice as free future content is, games should be reviewed based on what they are, not what they might be.
I half expect people to start saying that we should review games based on how much they'll cost second hand in 3 years, or give them a free pass for online issues because "It'll work one day!".

All I'm seeing in every review under 90 is quantity > quality. And no voice chat. You guys nailed it.
