thats really good. i dont understand why carriers in the US have control of updates. its really really really fucked up.

Yeah good news, carriers/networks should just supply the cellular service and not interfere. As mentioned it's US customers that will benefit the most here.
PS, PS2, Gameboy Advance, PS3, PSP, PS4, Xbox One
It's crazy how much control carriers have in the US.
My carrier only has 1 app and you have to go to the play store to install it yourself (if you want to).
This is good for consumers. But I had no idea that carriers are the ones that dictate updates, or perhaps it's only in the US. I always thought it had to do with the phone manufacturer.
Live and learn.
Good... Now release new premium phones! My woman broke the screen on her Lumia 1020. The phone fell and the screen cracked. She wants a replacement, but they want to replace it with an HTC One M9. Not the Windows one, but the Android one. Has it gotten that bad, we can't even replace our broken phones with something in the same tier? Will be going to a service center to see what the deal is...
| kowenicki said: As Lurker says, this isnt just carriers, its manufacturers too. Hallelujah that this has happened. Vodafone can be dog slow at releasing the updates. PS. Why is quoting suddenly broken on this site via firefox? |
Because Firefox is gash? You should use a decent browser, like IE. :)
