I hope someone finds a way to hack the game off their PS4 and preserve it.
Ah, the digital age. At least companies can't find a way to make discs self-destruct.
Yet mister Steam defends his favorite platform of choice, dude is a hypocrite like all the othet PC eletist youtube channels: BunnyHop and RTU as well.

Sadly, there will come a day when the discs wear out.

Yes, unfortunatly, but luckily, most of the game discs can at one point be ripped to save the game. And while digital doesn't wear out, if a platform like Steam (let's hope not) would go down, a lot of people would lose their games (even though Steam has a clause that let's you download and keep your games, but I wonder how in the name a company that would go under would be able to keep their servers running).

What? He's constantly ranting about the state of Steam.
It does seem like the worst case scenario if we eventually move to being pure digital, and it has me worried... : (

Bottom line, I think gaming needs to have some kind of dedicated preservation foundation, like film does. It's a part of our culture and history, just as much as cinema.

There are multiple groups like MAME, but for modern PC games, this won't be easy.
To start, a lot of the online functions would have to be ripped out of a game before it can just be stored still function.

I meant something more official, but yeah.
