He makes a cool boss for Shovel Knight, though.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Make him a adoptive father. Then we can have spiritual successor. Son of War.
He's as deep as you're willing to interpret. He has motive, he had love, he seeks vengeance. I like him as a gameplay character but most of you know what to expect from his games.
I played and enjoyed every game except Ascension (never got around to it) and while most of the games were good, Kratos wasn't a character I enjoyed or even cared about. It was the graphics and boobies that kept me coming back. He wasn't a Solid Snake or anything. Just somebody a 10th grader would create after school while listening to 90's rock music.
When I played the original God of War I found it remarkable that Kratos was an anti-hero, unorthodox for a video game. When he showed such remorse for the deaths of his loved ones and when he was overwhelmed by sorrow when he saw the slaughtered innocents and reflected upon his own actions I loved the signs of growth and development. Then God of War II threw all of that out the window and completely ignored Kratos as a character. Chains of Olympus and to a lesser extent Ghost of Sparta had their moments but again, Kratos never became the multifaceted character I had hoped for. I honestly think this is the greatest tragedy in the God of War series and it's a shame because he's still one of the more interesting video game "characters". The genre desperately needs well developed characters and Kratos was a squandered opportunity as far as I am concerned.

These 2 were designed to be charasmatic and liked by the players, Kratos was not. That's why many dislike Kratos.
One of the worst gaming characters. Not much of a character just walking insecure killing thing who lets his wang direct him around. Press circle over and over and over and over and over and over until a QTE. Asura and Bayonetta are great characters. Bayonetta just the best in the genre and both would wipe the floor with Kratos.

Yep, that's exactly it.
Kratos in the first game was a great tragic hero, but sony and santa monica knew they had a hit on their hands so they had to exploit it as much as possible.
The character doesn't leave me much to think about. Maybe a little in GoW1 and Ghost (haven't played ascension). I enjoyed the adventures, I found his interactions with others amusing, the games were fun. That's about it.
