If I would have to guess (and this is pure speculation) then the following is going on: Nintendo wants Squeenix to bring their Japanese games for 3DS and WiiU to the West (mostly Dragon Quest), but Square isn't willing to do that. So Nintendo uses the VC games as leverage. If Squeenix doesn't want to take any "risks" in the West on Nintendo platforms, Nintendo isn't going to hand them an easy way of making a quick buck in the West either by releasing their VC games for them. |
