Well, while I disapprove of a lot of their promotion decisions and other areas of management, I think they've done pretty good on the development front considering they are bench pressing two platforms mostly on their own.   I like that they have taken risks even though they didn't all work out.  But I think the difference is I was quite patient and got the Wii U just recently.  I imagine a lot of early adopters are less pleased than recent ones.

I was cautious enough to wait until November of 2013 to get my Wii U, but even since then there have been plenty of brutal droughts. I'd actually say they played it far too safe with their software output on Wii U. Games like 3D World and Tropical Freeze were well crafted but lacked ambition.

See I can get Tropical Freeze.  But I rather like that they once again threw aside what they already had and experimented with something new in 3D World.  And there are numerous things I like better than Galaxy, especially - ESPECIALLY - the way power ups work.  But thry also had games like Wonderful 101 and Bayo 2 plus XCX that have shown a lot of ambition.  I think a lot of plans they originally had for the Wii U fell through.  Compare 2011 Nintendo with 2012 Nintendo.  And then consider some stuff we know now, like their Criterion negotiation to create a new F-Zero for the launch window falling through.  I think Nintendo hurried to push the Wii U out and really tried to pull a lot together way too fast: third party relationships, 3rd party exclusives, etc.  And in the end it was too many moving parts to resolve in a short time.  3rd parties fell through, their showpiece F-Zero never came to fruition, it all went to crap.  I think that's why 2012 and 2013 were so brutal: Nintendo was trying to pull it together on the fly.  That's why I really hope they are taking the time to get everything setup right with NX so that this doesn't happen again.

Taking the blueprint of a 3DS game and adding a HD coat of paint wasn't really what mainstream gamers wanted from the first 3D Mario on a HD-capable platform. I still enjoyed the game, but it did rub a lot of people the wrong way, and is very much a case of Nintendo playing it safe; taking a proven formula (3D Land) and iterating on it isn't what I'd call experimenting.

Ah, I always forget 3D Land released significantly beforehand xD .  Probably because even just looking at it it looks like it has no identity at all :P . I usually consider the two together I suppose as a result. Everything else I said stands though.

I got 2 new amiibos!!! And look at K.K slider!!! I have to say he is the second best looking amiibo i have owned (Bowser being first). I think the animal crossing base design looks the best. Hopefully... There.... Will.... Be.... A..... Proper..... AC Game..... On.... The.... Wii U..... For... Me.... To..... Use.... This.... Amiibo........ Or at least at the beginning of Nintendo's next new console.

And i finally bought Link! Don't know why it took me this long...... But what i noticed something different about this is the packaging. Instead of the text being in English it was in Japanese. First time seeing that here in Australia.

Gonna have to say that was a poor decision especially considering the internet exist.

Anywhos, not that I need them to influence my decision, but how are there still no reviews out for super mystery dungeon? Are they really able to have the review embargo remain in effect even after the game is released? That's a pretty shady tactic and shows you don't have faith in your game, although in this case it seems Metacritic has not treated this series fairly.

Seriously. I've been wondering for the past couple of days where the reviews for mystery dungeon are. I was guessing embargo at first but now I'm thinking maybe the reviewers need more time to play the game (since it is pretty story heavy)?

But I don't think that it's a they don't have "faith in their game" thing. I've seen some gameplay footage (of actual copies) and everything in the game looks great.

You obviously dont look at packaging very often in stores then, Ive seen plenty of Japanese amiibo here in Aus. What I want to know is why?? I mean sure the figure and its capabilities are the same and all but why are they shipping us Japanese stock O_O

Yeah as mentioned they must know reviewers aren't doing the series justice (GBA installment is best one lol kay) so they're keeping them from reviewing it, that way the people on the fence have to go to the better sources.

Also fuck Nintendo for not releasing Super Mystery Dungeon here until 2016 -__-
