I'm impressed how fast the news from one poster on Squidboards has spread, as now my plaza is half full of hacker octoling related post. I think it's a bit blown out of poportion though, as it's probably just one or two jerks doing it so the odds of running into them are extremely low, but eh, only a good thing to make sure people are aware.

We still have no proof of anyone ever bringing an Octoling and/or any of the unreleased weapons into an online match with randoms, so it's still possible that this whole thing is a farce. Well it is true that your plaza would lock up due to being unable to load the Octoling and the unreleased weapons, but whether or not a hacker is going around online with them isn't. This is why I find it pretty sad that many are saying they're gonna stop playing the game because of this. And I was just planning on getting back into Mario Kart 8 today, but now people might think I'm chickening out too. Honestly I would love to meet this hacker, as in addition to being competent enough to get pictures and his NNID, I'd also do nothing but troll and squid bag him during the match. >:3

Oh, and yeah, finally going back to Mario Kart 8! It's been over 4 months since I played, so plenty of de-rusting to be done! I feel like I'm gonna suck, I mean I think I remember most of the strats, but the actual execution is gonna be the problem, gotta be uber precise on 200cc afterall, but it'll still be fun! Cannot wait to go sanic speeds with Isabelle on Wild Woods once moar!

YES!!!! I am so getting it!!! ( it will be my first game that i will be buying the limited/special edition! If you dont count the MP10 with the Mario Amiibo) DAMN!!! 2016 will be such a good year! So far i got This! Fe:Fates, Hyrule Legends, Zelda, and the most likely announcement of NX! 

Yep, the whole thing was just a boy crying octopus. All these claims without evidence started making me question the validity of the whole thing. Sure enough I found a hole in the original victim's story after doing a bit of digging, and with him being a liar, that means everyone else's claims are false aswell. There never was an Octoling or unreleased weapons online. I gotta say, I am amazed at how this became so widespread so fast! Squidboards, Youtube, Reddit, Twitch, Miiverse, everywhere was talking about this! A little lie from one guy caused such a huge ruckus, but I'll admit it was a pretty fun ride!

Can't you see it's an octarian conspiracy? While we were bussy spreading the word and panicking, they are atacking our nuclear plants and oil supplies to get our energy and keep their underground rave parties going!
