I think it's fair to say that the addition of the points and the value of news in the thread comes down to the opinion of Platina ultimately. A good basic rule would logically be that anything made before this thread would count towards the points in the previous thread and, thus, are exempt in this thread. A thread made nearly six years ago (long before even I created my account) isn't really a good idea because if we start letting such threads through then where does it stop?

So the simple answer here is that such an article won't be included in the scores because of the age; ignoring everything else for a moment.

Seeing Rol and Platina interact is my favorite thing about this thread so far.

I know you've been testing the validity of the point system, and probably will continue to do so again to test the thread with 100+ posts (in order to see what I consider acceptable or not). The purpose of the point system is not to have a stringent guideline for who and what can earn points. But instead, the main purpose is for users to interact inside NintenDomination and to discuss anything Nintendo related, like stated in the introduction. Earning 100 pts and being able to get on the Defenders List is a bonus or incentive to participate here.

It was my mistake to not look carefully at your 'news' post, but again, the purpose at the end of the day, is not to say 'your news is acceptable and your one is not' with a black and white definition of 'news'. Rather, it's there to promote discussion about everything Nintendo. I don't want to get into a debate over users about contributions that they deem to be newsworthy, so that is why I gave the option to comment on the Google Docs if you feel that you are missing points. I will look into their suggestions and would probably give it to them.

Your second news post is definetly not news, even by your standards, so points aren't awarded. Even your thread with 100+ posts is a bit iffy, but the point is not to be inflexible, so that is why you will earn those points.

If you want, I could take away that point if you don't feel it's not newsworthy..

It really wasn't that hard to figure out.

The titles given with the point system should be remade again. Outside the first ones and the last, they don't have a unique feel to them. Even VGC's titles are more creative!
