If the presentation really lasts around 30 minutes, this will be Nintendo's shortest E3 presentation - at least from what i can remember. I don't know about you, but 30 minutes seems short to me. |
If that's the case, it'll be around 13 min shorter than E3 2014 and 18 min shorter than E3 2015. And for the most part, both didn't exactly have a lot of NEW games shown (Captain Toad, BoTW, Mario Maker, and Splatoon stood out in the digital event in 2014; Federation Force, Tri Force Heroes, Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival, and the official reveal of Star Fox Zero in 2015). So they'll probably show the highlights of what's coming up for the rest of the year with hints of 2018 and Odyssey will be main attraction.

Trimming your presentation to a bare minimum will make "Spotlight" more like E3 2013 and not E3 2014, for example. And that's not a good sign, to be honest.

Are they doing Treehouse?? Because that gets rid of any 5+ minute gameplay vids and makes them 1-2 minute trailers. On top of that they do Directs all year round meaning they don't really have massive announcements saved up for E3 like Sony.
I mean I fully expect it to almost entirely be games that are already announced anyway.
They don't really need more than 30 minutes for like 10ish trailers.

I'm not even going to discuss about quantity, as in regards to quality, by the looks of it, they are preparing Spotlight to be more like E3 2013 than anything else. And that is what i really would "hate" to see.
I loved the E3 2014 presentation to a point where even I, a advocate of live presentations, wouldn't mind so much not having anymore of those.
Of course, this doesn't 100% confirm it, but makes it the most likely scenario... and that sucks.
