Okay so I've found that MK8 does indeed work fine as long as there's only a few others players in the group, no thanks to you guys! :P

So that confirms it is a problem with the Wii U and not the games, which is good to know if I ever decide to send it in for repairs again, assuming they still bother to repair the things.

Cool :)

I'm not a huge fan of the 2DS, but I am more into handheld gaming than your statement implies you have been.  The 2DS is a great budget option.

Looking for game recommendations?  There's a lot of good stuff to be had.

Thank You!

So far, other than Mario Kart 7, I'm looking forward to Pokémon Moon and Super Mario 3D Land. I like RPGs, and I think Pokémon will entertain me for quite some time.

If you like RPGs, there's a number available.  The only ones I have played personally are Bravely Default (classic turn based), Fire Emblem Awakening, and Fire Emblem Fates (both tactical RPGs).  Bravely Default is a sticky one.  I don't regret my purchase but the final leg of the game is just...ugh.  It's bad.  I hear Bravely Second is a lot of what made Bravely Default great but without the terrible final chapter.  Fire Emblems are both really good and the good news is there's a demo of Awakening available on the eShop.

If you like platformers, I mean, it's a Nintendo machine :P .  There's Kirby Triple Deluxe and Kirby Planet Robobot, which are classic Kirby so not hard but very fun and upbeat.  There's Shovel Knight if you haven't played it on some other machine, inspired by Duck Tales, Mega Man, and other platformers of the olden days and I personally really like it.  There's Azure Striker Gunvolt, a Mega Man type game I've played a bit (I think the second one is out as well), and there's more to play.  Azure Striker has a demo on the eShop.

One unique franchise to the DS line of handhelds is the Etrian Odyssey series.  It's a hybrid of classic turn based JRPGs and old school first person dungeon crawling.  The production values aren't overly extravagant, but I find them fun and interesting.  Etrian Odyssey Untold: Millenium Girl has a demo on the eShop so give it a whirl and see what you think.

And if you like Zelda, Ocarina of Time 3D and Majora's Mask 3D are the definitive versions of those games and fit very well on a handheld.  I'm sure others can give you even more.

any hint/rumor if Fatal Frame would be released on the switch? planning to buy it on the Wii U, but still waiting if there would be a physical disc release.

The Switch presentation will be 1 hour long:

WTF Nintendo?Really?I really hope thats not true, because 1 hour is too small to sell a new system, one that we know little about!

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

One hour can be plenty to sell something if you don't waste time.  Which if Nintendo's video for the Switch is any indication, they won't.  It's a matter of efficient use of time.  That is, I think, why they are doing the press events and fan events in other cities plus the Tree House, so they can focus on efficiently using the time they have for this press conference.

I was all excited for Friday until I saw this

Now I'm preparing for the worst

IGN has tweeted this and it has been taken down since. I know this looks as likely as Rol being a moderator, but still... hey, let's ramp up the excitement!

Yes I know.Thats why I think the Tree house the next day is such a great idea. But even then, 1 hour is too short of a time. You dont have only games to talk about, you need to speak about the hardware, what comes with it, the OS, the online infrastructure, price, the myriad of games that(I hope) it will have, and so on.

If this ends up being a bit more focused on the hardware side and the games gets more of a "passing note"(And I stress the "") so that the games will be focused more on Friday, I can see them managing to talk about most stuff that needs talking, but then the show as whole could suffer for it, and as a result the impact that people have on the Switch could be not as big as it should be.

I dont know, the minimum should have been 90 minutes in my opinion. But lately Nintendo has been getting things right(outside of undershipping stuff), so Ill give them the benefit of the doubt.

Seems fake. Not only the subtitles for some games seems terrible(Mario Kart 8:Switch it! LOL), but there isnt one game, except for Pikmin, that hasnt been rumored in some way or another. And assasins Creed, as far as I know, always comes in the end of the year, so there is also that.
