Yep, but it's similar isn't it? If Driveclub gets fixed and extra content post launch for free and doesn't get extra review points for it then why would Splatoon?

It just means reviewers should not take off 30 points for something that's confirmed to be rectified within weeks.

Reviewers also shouldn't add points for content they haven't played. Review what's there and not what's promised to be there in a couple of weeks/months.

Yeah and what's there is already an 80 average at the least. Also, anyone considering picking up Splatoon is gonna be taking the upcoming content into account, so for a review not to would only make it less relevant, ex: I don't care that you think 5 maps isn't enough when there'll be 10 by the time I pick up the game with more coming.

I stand by my prediction you like or not.

No problem, I will quote you in 3 weeks and it will be funny.

They have already played splat zones, the second online mode. It was presented to all the press all around.

I'm talking about the post launch content, the extra maps, weapons, gear, new game modes and rule sets for splat zones and the private match making options (though that's one that can probably be seen as an exception here, since there's not really much to judge about the ability to play with your friends in private matches).

None of those things was presented before, just a weapon and maybe some map in some ad, everything else are news from the last direct. We knew nothing about tower control and rainmaker until the direct, and nothing about the competitive matchmaking options, those are news to us, not promised content that is not going to be at launch, no. Everything that was promised is IN the game, but now we know there´s even more coming very very soon for free, it´s actually a plus.

So how do you expect reviewers to take the later maps into account? Sure they can give you a number but they can't let that influence their review and a good reivewer is going to think of that, you can't review a game as if it has 10 maps if you've only actually been able to play 5.

The same could be said about many games that didn't actually get at least an 80 though...

Uh yeah, cause reviewers fail. Like I said I predict the game will actually score less than 80.

75-80. It will get praised for the solid gameplay but get knocked down for the lack of content.

It has free dlc for extra content. You'd think reviewers would mention that. It's kind of their job.

Did that help Driveclub?

Driveclub's online didn't work well at launch and it was never announced up front that the game would be supported with free dlc. Plus a racing game at 30 fps? Lol.
It's lucky to even be that high. The AI isn't very good in that game either.

I'm sorry but what are you arguing here? Someone said that reviewers shouldn't deduct points for the missing stuff that's supposed to come post launch and I said that they also shouldn't add points for it and that they should instead review the game for what it is at launch. Why are you telling me what's been promised at launch and what hasn't been? The conversation was specifically about the post launch content.

By not saying 5 maps isn't enough. Bonus points if they're able to understand and explain how Splatoon's gameplay makes pretty much any map good.
