Forums - Nintendo - What would you like to see Nintendo do now that the Wii U is profitable?

Yeah I din't make myself very clear there. I meant save as is their gaming IP.

I know Konami have their pachinko and fitness/gyms that keep them very healthy.

Like you say they seem to be losing interest in gaming and I don't like the idea of their IPs not being used.

They should have a fire sale, MG would be at home on PS the rest is up in the air imo. Some great IPs there including Hudsons stuff. Defintely some games that could benefit Nintendo.

Yeah, if they don't plan on using their IPs then they should consider selling them, I agree. Lets see how that whole thing plays out, I'm unfortunately leaning towards Konami getting out of the games business and still hogging all of their IPs as the most likely scenario.

they should buy more baseball teams.

It has to  be a huge breath of fresh air for any company when they are able to show their shareholders that they are in the green financially, so this last shareholders meeting was probably a huge relief to a LOT of people, Iwata included. They have opened the door to smart phone games, and are teaming up with Universal to not only make attractions at their theme park, but also opened doors to make media other than games. In fact, if you have stock in Nintendo you would almost have to be a complete idiot to sell now.

Which brings me to my point:

What do you hope/what is the most likely big move for Nintendo?

Open a GC animation studio for movies?

Try to beat everyone else to the virtual console front?

Buy more developers, or IP?

If they buy konami and capcom. They are ahead of their competitors

Buy (save) Konami.

Konami isn't in danger, they are just not interested in games anymore.

Konamis IPs arent used because they are not sucessfull, gamers are to be blamed for not buying their games in the first place. So i dont see how it could change if some one buys their IPs, nintendo and sony dont have unlimited recources to produce games. They would have to cut back on other games.

Expand their development teams so that they can provide a more consistent stream of software.

A little bird told me Kojima is looking for a job. It would be a hell of a development team leader to have.

Suda 51 should get a studio at nintendo too. strange, "adult" games that are different and better than 99% of  3rd party games

If they buy Konami and Capcom they'll be right back into making losses, especially with Capcom.

Well first of all you said "buy Konami and Capcom" and not buy their IPs, secondly people have to realize that a lot of dead IPs are dead for a reason, Nintendo just buying the rights to something like Megaman (which was according to this site never that big to begin with) and then making a new game out of it with todays standards, is not as cheap as you might expect, so there's really no guarantee that they'd actually make money off of something like that or that it'd bring many people back to Nintendo.

Buying Capcom would probably cost to much but their catalogue of games (Mega Man, Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, Street Fighter, etc) would fit well in the Nintendo umbrella. That being said I would prefer a slight increase in workstaff particularly in the hardware development so issues we had with the Wii U wouldn't be repeated.

Keep releasing high quality games????
