Forums - Nintendo - "Rollers" are the Little Mac of Splatoon! Not OP :o

That's actually a pretty good comparison. I only really had trouble fighting them when they're right in my face but from a distance, they're usually easy to take care of.

Around the Network

I think another reason why the roller felt more OP than the other weapons was because the two playable maps were mostly narrow hallways and that of course makes It easier to cover more ground with this weapon, I'm sure that in the more open maps the charger and the splatershot should prove more useful in battle.

Yeah, hitting a paintroller with any weapon slows them down considerably. A player that has more than 3 hours invested will easily dispatch them. Covering ground though is a must. You need at least one in turf war.

Teams that were made of 3 or four paint rollers were consistently dominated in my playtime. Rollers are useful, but only if they have another player to cover them. Roller + Splattershot may be an interesting combo, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to have two players covering the same area. Metagame should be interesting.

Ninja roller is tough. Plus ambush rollers. There were some who waited around the corner until I came around. I ate roller more often than not by turning the wrong corner. The wail wiped me out too. It out ranges everything so its run or die against it.

The problem with Ninja roller is that they aren't covering turf when they are hiding...the main point of roller is covering ground, so technically Ninja roller is either extremely defensive or sub optimal.

i averaged 850-900p ninja rolling, i actually do it efficiently lol
