Just because the games are quality doesn't mean they won't be cash grabs. Amiibo proves that Nintendo isn't above a "quality cash grab."

Well the colloquial definition of "cash grab" is something that is put together in a slapdash fashion in an attempt to gain easy profits, so technically something like a "quality cash grab" is a bit of a oxymoron.

Good Point. Shovelware is a Cash Grab for example

lol at Amiibo being cash grabs. Last i checked they were figurines. The same as when people buy toys, only higher quality...

Need to let go of the amiibo anger bro

Of course they are cash grabs. Whoever said they weren't figurines? How does them being toy-to-life figurines, a concept literally created to shamelessly pillage exorbitant amounts of money from parents, not a cash grab? Now is Nintendo hurredly copying a product designed to be a cash grab, so much so that there are still shortages in demand, not a cash grab? Because it's spread across more games? That makes them worse, not better. At least you can opt in or out of figurines DLC by choosing not to buy Skylanders/Disney Infinity. With Amiibo, buying a Nintendo console is equivilant to owning an entire Skylanders game, with little chunks taken out of any which game and locked away by a $13 toy. But it's okay because it's "optional," right? Right.

I will not let go of my amiibo anger, bro.

Well unfortunately your in the minority here on Amiibo being bad. Only thing bad is Nintendo's Supplying them to retailer. Srry that you feel that way but Amiibo are here to stay^ For a long time

Five games in a year and a half? Sounds low. Nintendo sure is slow when it comes to making games.

Don't worry, they definitely delay half of them to 2017.

They will create more in the next year, i believe that. They just starting the engine and will need a time to mastering the mobile market. Well i hope it's a new IP that solely made for mobile.

Microtransactions are "here to stay for a long time" too. Doesn't mean they aren't shit. It means they are shit that makes money. Annualized franchises are "here to stay" because they make money, not because they're good. Day one DLC, super expensive season passes, and now paid for mods are here to stay, not because they are good, but because they are profitable. Amiibo are great for people who like toys and toy collecting. For everyone else, it's the most offensively overpriced and most widely spread system of paywalls to ever face gaming so far. They are fucking terrible. Just because the toys look nice and the DLC plays nice doesn't mean the foundation of gating off in such a way is any less fucking dirty.

Me being in the "unfortunate minority" doesn't change that. Being in a minority doesn't discredit/devalue an opinion. Guess what? Liking Nintendo is being in the "unfortunate minority" right now. Guess Nintendo is kiddie shit making only kiddie shit games now, huh?

They may as well attach the DLC to $13 lumps of coal and say "well it's great additional content for Santa Claus, naughty children, and coal collectors. I mean, you don't have to buy it. It's totally optional. You're in the minority if you think it's crap, anyway. Hope that makes you feel bad, because Lumps-O-Coal are here to stay. For a long time. The only thing bad is Nintendo's supplying them to elves."

Better to make 5 good mobiles games, then 20 bad ones :p.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.
