Snake for Smash!

(Konami would probably make that impossible, though.)

I'm not so sure they would care. Now's a perfect time to get cash on the series before someone potentially ruins it (or Konami Mega Mans it). Right now Snake is relevant.

I'd like to see him create a new IP or, since he was dabbling in the horror genre with Silent Hills, maybe see him work on a new Eternal Darkness.

Any specific genre, or are you open to that as well?

He would have his own studio, borrowing a handful of devs from various other Nintendo studios, like how Sakurai made Kid Icarus.

And he would make Mother 4.

I honestly don't think there needs to be a Mother 4. The series creator is retired, and the three games are self-contained. It is a complete series in my eyes.

Kojima is a writer. He weaves crazy stories that have emotional depth alongside over-the-top silliness. I couldn't think of a Nintendo franchise that would be a good fit for him in terms of the tone of the series, until I thought of Mother. Likewise, I struggle to think of a designer who would be a good fit to continue the Mother franchise, but Kojima kind of fits the bill. I think he could do a good job with that kind of game, even though he hasn't to my knowledge made an RPG before.

Maybe F-Zero. Yeah, he can also make F-Zero. At least, I'd love to see his interpretation of those characters, whatever form that would take.

could be great, can he do anything but mgs. i dont think ninty was to spend the money on production values that he would want.

Well, like Xenoblade couldn't be a new adventure? Lots of games get passed on and changed, some for the better, some worse.

Sure there could be more Mother. Without Itoi I'm not sure I would consider it "Mother" since the games are pretty much self-contained. It's not like most Nintendo franchises where they have loads of recurring characters. Each game is its own beast, with maybe a few references to previous entries or familiar faces.

Xenoblade is a good point. Would "Xeno-" really be an appropriate title if Takahashi wasn't involved? He's the only reason Xenoblade was renamed from Monado: Beginning of the World. So I think a new designer and team could (and should!) create a "Mother"-like game, but I wouldn't necessarily call it Mother.
