How about you make a circuit so it does it one clock cycle instead of 4.

Therefore, I decided you are not as nerdy as the people I took my college's equivalent of that class with

Ohy, I'll have nightmares about Infinities, NaNs, and denormalized numbers for weeks... I'm bored, not masochistic. :)
Most of those boxed devices don't have part numbers because they're original designs. Logicworks has a decent library of chips, but a lot of them you have to make yourself. I wonder if I could make this thing out of 7400-series stuff on a breadboard...

Well, I was the DM for 4 different RPG groups including one on a BBS my brothers and I hosted. So I think I bet you both on that count.

High school lunch hour DnD is the worst DnD I have ever played.
But what else was there to do?

Our high school lunch was absolute crap, we only had 23 minutes to wait in line for food and eat. That would be enough time for maybe one round of combat. ;) There was a late bus though, so we often played after school in the cafeteria when we weren't doing other extracurriciulars.

this is my nerding it up contribution. the research paper and funding/backing presentation for this will likely eat up my whole week.
