Not deserved, there are much better games from 2014 imo.

You haven't even played Yo-kai Watch.

Evidently not.

Better question, have you even seen Yokai Watch?

Yes.

So you think Youkai Watch is a better game than GTA V Remastered, Dark Souls 2, Watch Dogs, The Evil Within, Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, Monster Hunter 4: Ultimate, Freedom Wars, Mario Kart 8, Super Smash. Bros...?

Guys, you have to understand that Famitsu works really different than our Western game review system. Yokai Watch 2 was not awarded only because of its critical reception in Japan, but also for its overall popularity. Japanese can be pretty much overwhelmed when it comes to popular phenomenon like Yokai Watch, so this award was much expected from them. And I must assume they have a different point of view and review systems about how a game is supposed to be good... Look at all the perfect scores they awarded throughout the years, you can see a tendency. That's the Japanese preference.

Although we may not agree with including sales figures in the award process, sometimes we do not escape even over here in the West the overall craze a game can get, resulting in inflated scores or undeserved awards. Even then, we could debate months about the concept of ''deserving'' something...

I may not have played Yokai Watch 2, but I can certainly think of some better ones...
