The one thing I've been wondering about this game is the plot beyond the rebuild civilization thing so I thought I'd share this video.  I feel like he brings up a really good point about the character your playing as.

I don't see why it matters that the created character is not the main protagonist. I mean it's not like anything is missing, as the story-based characters are controllable in battle. You can play as Elma and it would be as if the game didn't have a customization character. The customization character is there to do two things: 1. create a premise by which the player's avatar enters the world, and 2. allow full game-play customization of at least one character.
