Well, at least ORAS had the Delta episode, but other than that, I totally agree.

I need to get to that part, Ive yet to beat ORAS yet XD As much as I love Hoenn (3rd gen is my fave) this remake was underwhelming in comparison to previous remakes. FR/LG and HG/SS had a ton of new elements while ORAS actually took sort of a step back from what Ive played. 


Just by incorporating new mechanics of new generations, i think the game changed a lot.

I remembered when i fought wallace with, i thought that an eletric or grass type would be enought for fighting water type. But that enormous milotic sd. def and recover... Now the division of atk and sp.atk by move and not by type changed a lot the way we face the leaders.

Other amazing thing about ORAS is flying with lati@s across the hoenn region. Is awesome the freedom, seeing all the hoenn region from above is a game changing, you can land in any route, not only cities, explore places where you cant reach from foot, also you can air battle if you colide with flying pokemon. An great evolution from just using the fly move. And you dont need a fly slave.

Online conectivity greatly increased the secret bases utility. In RS i really didnt see any good use of secret bases, but now in ORAS, your base is sent by internet and shown to the world. Also, you can battle the base owner team.

I also like delta episode. is a great addiction to the game. The elite four teams after delta episode are amazing to fight too.

Is not the same level of improvment of HGSS from GS, but i think the ORAS improvements from RS are fair enought. A respectable remake, imo.

I only miss PWD.

The other remakes were also able to incorperate the new mechanics while still adding much more. However, I will admit the overhaul from R/B to FR/LG or from G/S to HG/SS were not as drastic as R/S to OR/AS was -but the point still stands. 

I felt the new flying mechanic was a bit underwhelming as it comes late in the game, and while I understand why it was done, there could have been ways to incorperate it earlier than it was. Conceptually it was nice, but I'm hoping they improve it for the next game.

Secret Bases were ok, but really didn't add to much. It is the gimmick of the 3rd Gen, most Gens have some sort of gimmick and even with online etc. HG/SS was still able to include much more. 

The remake is definitely not on par with HG/SS and probably closer to FR/LG (but I would argue less so than them) but as a remake it is decent. I believe much more could have been included such as a Battle Frontier or the PWT. Maybe next Hoenn remake XD
