Are they really losing out on that much money though? 3DS games sell for what, $40? They sell about 6m+ with their main series games so that's about $240m in revenue. Could they really make that much by going mobile? The average price of a mobile game is what about $2? In that case they would need 120m people to buy their game, that's almost the entire population of Japan and just isn't going to happen.

They could do much more than 240mill. Have you seen the other F2P mobile hits? Youkai Watch wish it did Puzzles and Dragons numbers.
