Hello, fellow members! I am back with the second and final part of my final salute to the mods. As some of you are aware, the former mods (i.e. mums, Mr.Kahn, etc.) are no longer mods. As such, I wanted to give them one final salute. With that, there is one more important asleft I must mention. To understand part two of this saga, part one is highly recommended. Now, with that out of the way, let's get started!
Now, picking up where we last off, off to GameFAQs I went. Renewed with courage, determination and vigour, I had ventured forth into the GameFAQs world. Upon my first thread, I was greeted with nothing bit positive wishes for the future on the site, many of which were moderators! At this point, mu confidence to serve the community well surged after such comments. I then took it upon myself to help others on the site, as much as I can in any way I can. Things did go quite well for quite some time; even befriending some of the moderators there. However, all good times must come to an end.
Now, unlike the Newgrounds "perma-ring", this incident had a much different scenario. Shortly after logging on for some usual foruming, my inbox was flooded with unusual warnings. Unbeknownst to these, I had contacted one of the moderators right away. We had then discussed what went awry; further finding out that someone hacked my account. Initially, we easily dismissed this as a freak occurrence and such language isn't what I would ever use (swearing, racial slurs, etc.). However, whoever this hacker was, made sure he did not fail a second time. Iinstead of going after me on his second chance, he went after the moderators account. More so painfully, this one was a good friend of mine, and there was little he could do about it. After the miscreant caused so much havoc, GameFAQs was shut down for a brief time to update security, and subsequently, fire all but the longest tenured moderators on the site, including my friend.
After order was restored in the community, I had decided to log back in, but received a message stating I was permabanned again! Shocked, demoralized, weeping and panicking, I made an alt account to wonder what my offense was. Turns out that the hacker used my profile as an anonymous form of protection as a failsafe; should he have ever gotten caught. Using every bit of evidence as innocence, the moderator had given it a closer look and found out that I was not the hacker. However, this mod. informed me that my profile was no longer on record! Weeping even more, I thanked him for his hard work and exited out of the site.
Shortly after, I had decided that the higher ups from both sites were either not trustworthy or too inexperienced to deal with such issues. My friend later stated that fourming brings nothing but trouble for me and suggested that I quit, which I did for a while.... 'till that very same friend told me about VGChartz; a site dedicated to sales, which is something I didn't much though about.
That being said, this leads me towards the former moderator. The moment I had written my first ever thread, while it may have started the same as GameFAQs, I believe that the current ones will not follow in the footsteps of the GameFAQs ones I had to deal with. Furthermore, I can already tell by just reading your comments that all moderators, you will definitely not repeat the same mistakes as the old Newgrounds moderators.
That being said, I want to thank you for the time we did have to know each other, even if was under half a year. Thank you for your workmanship, dedication, judgement, honestly, and sacrifice. I understand that, again, the time we knew each other was short, but in that time, you all allowed me to roll the dice once more. I don't know how my time will end up on VGChartz; permabanned or otherwise, but it is thanks to you that I was able to find the confidence I had lost since my GameFAQs days and give this one final roll of the dice.
