Forums - Microsoft - Rumor: Xbox One Game Streaming Implemented In May Update

The upcoming May update for Microsoft’s Xbox One is now available for preview members and according to some users of Reddit a new option has been added to the Xbox One settings. We’re talking about the highly anticipated game streaming feature announced in January this year.

The option is a beta option and would allow for game streaming to other devices. User m0nkeycheese posted a shot of the option which can be seen below:

Another post on Reddit involves a possible confirmation about the above mentioned streaming to other devices option. According to the post made by diddycarter an official Xbox staff member would have confirmed that game streaming will be available in the May update:

“Game streaming is something that will be available within this build”.

For a shot of the conversation check out the screenshot the above mentioned user made:

Game streaming to other devices is something that Microsoft announced this year. The streaming would allow Xbox One games to be streamed to Windows 10 devices. Part of the Windows 10/Xbox One integration is the ption to run Windows 10 App on the Xbox One – a feature that was showed off in March.

Let’s see how this feature works out as its still in beta (according to the screenshot).

Hehe... streaming a less capable device to a more capable device. Brilliant.

To bad it can't accelerate the graphics to not be 720/900p.

Microsoft is doing really well with the monthly updates. I'm always looking forward to try the new features and this one looks really nice!

Well, seems like he wasn't lying.

I just turned on my Xbox One and it asked me to update the console. After the update I now have the streaming option.

I agree, it sucks that the consoles are so wee=ak that they don't offer 1080p/60 on every single game.  THey should have had 4k/120 for this generation to be considered a great machine.  That way the machines would have been a little more future proof beyond 2-3 years from launch.

It is near the end of the end....

I wish we could stream both ways instead of one... Seems a bit odd to have it only one way

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

More likely, the main use will be to stream w10 games to the xbox, or a different device connected to theTV.
hmm

So MS buys Miracast, a wi-fi less streaming device implemented for pc to tv streaming within a 50$ thumb stick.
Then they release a beta with the option to stream content from one device to another.
They have released plans to stream PC to other devices.

And people think I'm crazy when I say the xbox is not long for days?
No no, it must be that they are planning to stream from a weaker device to a more powerful device, like xbox to windows. That must be it.
