Forums - Sales - PS4 Price Cut vs. Halo 5 Bundle

Since the Halo bundle is cheaper, I'll easily go with that. During the holidays, entry price is more important in my opinion.

Don't think it matters. Sony has more to gain from not doing a price cut yet. Even if it sells less units, they'll probably make more money without quickly diluting the value of their product like Nintendo and MS have.

I would have to go with the PS4 price cut. I'd imagine sales would not only go through the roof, but potential sell outs on some sites. For the Halo 5 bundle, sales will also go high, but only on the USA and UK. Other nations I am not sure of.

I want to see a battle between.

GT7 Bundle vs Halo 5 Bundle.

I think the majority of people who wanted a Playstation 4 have purchased it, aside from those who cannot afford to. I believe that they will achieve a burst of higher sales, but the entry point cost for a console is still a hurdle and I don't see $100 making a significant enough difference. Video games are all about the video games. Halo is the champion franchise for Microsoft and will probably lure many more people into getting an Xbox One during the time frame you've suggested. Heck, I bought the Xbox 360 just to play Halo 3.

Sony announces/ plans a PS4 price - cut to $300 at the same day as Halo 5, who would win NA/ UK that week? Who would win the month? A $300 PS4 vs. a $250 XOne Halo bundle?

Current Xbox Halo Collection bundle is $350 and this XB1 bundle you made is only $250, so I'll guess Halo 5 bundle would win as its a new Halo game and a $100 price drop.  Pretty much means the XB1 is under $200 for your made-up bundle if you think about it.

Halo 5.

People will still wait til November (blackfriday/christmas shopping) for PS4. All the hardcore Halo fans will run out to buy X1 day one or at the very least week 1.

In this particular scenario with the situation I entailed I think MS would drop their bundle price to give them an extra edge needed to beat a PS4 pricecut.

No PS4 price cut needed.

Just a special marketing promotion where every new PS4 is bundled with a free movie ticket to Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Boom! Halo5 nullified.

In the US it would be close, but, I'd give the edge to the Halo 5 bundle. Worldwide, no question, the PS4.
