Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo's Yarn-made Yoshi Amiibo Revealed and Up for Pre-Order

Nintendo recently unveiled a special kind of Yoshi Amiibo that will herald the release of Yoshi's Wooly World for the Wii U platform this fall.

The adorable Yoshi are made of yarn similar to the ones in the Wii U game.  What's more, Nintendo is offering them in three colors: light blue, green and pink.

Gamers and others that have seen the latest Yoshi Amiibo have commented on how adorable and cute the yarn made toys are.

The Yoshi figures can also help you in your game.  Just tap it on the gamepad of your Wii U to unleash a Yoshi that will appear beside your character inside the game. Your new found ally can transform itself into a yarn ball and fight your enemies and cross over the gaps.

With the Yoshi by your side, Nintendo assures that, "even in single player, you won't feel alone."

The Yoshi amiibo will initially be released in the three mentioned colors.  Nintendo, however, hasn't yet confirmed if the new Yoshii will come in other different colors.

The game company is also becoming a toy company based on the number of Amiibos it releases.  According to the company, Amiibo sales are roughly equivalent to the number of Super Smash Bros games sold for the Wii U platform.

Meanwhile, did you know Yoshi's Wolly World will have two game modes?  The classic mode is the traditional way of jumping to platforms made of yarn. It's a difficult task to master for a substantial number of players.

Nintendo added a second mode that can help players on their travel from platform to platform.  The "mellow" mode assists players by providing them with winged Yoshi. The player can switch back and forth from classic to mellow to progress significantly in the game.

According to Nintendo, the classic mode is "quite challenging, even for veteran players."

Of all the amiibo announced at the latest Nintendo Direct, Yarn Yoshi were clearly the cutest. But all that cute may come at a price. Literally.

Two stores in the UK have the Yarn Yoshi amiibo up for pre-order, though they are not set to arrive until this fall alongside the Wii-U exclusive Yoshi’s Woolly World.

GAME currently has a single Yarn Yoshi retailing at £19.99, or roughly $29.57. Previous amiibo all have had a MSRP of $12.99.

A triple pack of the Yarn Yoshi in green, pink, and blue – because who wouldn’t want all three – also showed up for £49.99. Options also appeared for the game bundled with all three amiibo for £79.99 as well as the game bundled with the green Yarn Yoshi for  £49.99. The game alone is available to pre-order for £34.99.

Some more ifo guys.  Its more expensive than others

I better act, before scalpers get their hands on them.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Cute but definitely dont need.

I hope Nintendo will make alot of these. Would suck if there werent enough that those that bought the game couldn't use its amiibo feature (ie. Xenoblade 3DS and Captain Toad Treasure)

Has it been confirmed if you can use the Smash Yoshi or Super Mario Yoshi amiibos instead of the yarn ones for the upcoming Yoshi game?

I have a friend who would love those. She doesn't game though.

Then I hope players can use the other Yoshi amiibos if they can't get their hands on these yarn ones.
