I was a big fan of the Chrono Trigger series back in the day and it appears that it is a possiblity of a remake.  Im actually playing Chrono Cross on my PSP right now so if this is true, I am a happy man. 

The links claim that the CT license has been sold to MistWalker indicating a possible remake. Seeing that after Cry-On no announcements have been made for MistWalkers next project, if this is true I expect to hear an announcment sometime this year.

In my opinion, CT is the 2nd best RPG of all time (right behind FF7) so I really hope this is true. 

Any other Chrono Trigger/Cross fans here?

It could be a remake, or it could be that Chrono Break will finally see the light of day. (Hahaha...)

Either way, it's unlikely that Mistwalker would purchase the license only to sit on it, so I suspect we'll be seeing a game sooner or later. Given Mistwalker's commitment to the DS, that's where it will likely appear.

Big fan of CT here, but no, probably not a remake. Maybe a sequel but I think this franchise is pretty much dead so don't get your hopes up.

It has been confirmed that CT being sold to Mistwalker was just a rumor and Tanaka from Square Enix said that there is still a possibility of a sequel being made eventually(along with a VC release or remake of CT)

It would make sense for Chrono Trigger to go to Mistwalker, but this is just too much of a rumor at this point. I'll believe it when the news doesn't need to be babel fished from German and Dutch coming from two sources i've never heard of. Why would they have the news first anyways? Wouldn't this be coming out of Japan?

Oh that would be so badass if we got another Chrono Trigger game xD I'm a massive fan (if you couldn't tell :D ) but not to sound like a fan-boy, I just really don't like the possible consoles it could go to :x (ones I don't own of course ^_~ ), but the DS or the 360... hrm...

Im sorry, i refuse to believe that a chrono trigger remake is happening. I really refuse to believe that its going to the 360 at that. SE has said that nintendo and ps3 are their main platforms so I highly doubt they would put a beloved franchise on a console that not their main focus. Crazier things have happend though...

Edit: I just read the article and it mentions SE is selling the KH series to buena vista. (kh3 confirmed to suck) and SE will be selling the CT franchise to miswalker. I think this is BS but who knows.

Since Square Enix is listed on a stock exchange the sale of one or more of their IP's would have been public information.
Therefore these IP's aren't sold (yet).

It has been mentioned last year though that they are planning on selling these afforementioned IP's.
