Forums - Microsoft - Is Q4 2015 too early for Forza 6?

Should Forza 6 be delayed to 2016?

Nope, can't get enough Forza 27 41.54%

Yup, enough is enough need a break 38 58.46%

Total:65

Not really,, Turn 10 is a big studio, with enough resources to put out a game every 24 months.

What i'd like to see:
Horizon 2 quality lighting at 1080p 60fps.
More cars and tracks included with the game
Make levelling up less of a grind, less geared towards buying the xp boost microtransactions.
A more interesting/rewarding career mode.

IMO that's the problem with the franchise. hardly anyone get excited when a forza game is revealed because at this point it's a given before being announced. Not only releasing the game constantly is affecting the forza franchise but I also believe GT franchise is going to be affected as well. Real driving simulator isn't what it used to be. I may be wrong but that's my opinion until the sales of forza or GT reached the same level as before.

If they stick with 1080p60 it won't look near as good as Horizon 2. Modest improvement is possible though. I could see 900p60 though with better AA and lighting/effects. Either way I think it will be a huge step up in the content aspect. Forza is the sole remaining MS IP that I like, F1-F4 were awesome, and F5 was enough for me to gift my X1 to someone after the bitter disappointment. If F6 isn't a microtransaction riddled day one DLC shitfest, and I don't expect it to be too gimmicky like that, then I might spring for one of the $299 multigame bundles we're sure to see this fall. I still voted for a delay here because I'd love to see the biggest Forza game ever (stock, not including DLC and MTs). That kind of work takes time. Something like Forza 2 or Forza 4 dwarfed 5 in launch content.

AFAIK, the lighting in Horizon 2 isn't massively demanding, just a very modern and advanced version. Also it was open world so FM6 should be less demanding anyway, hence the 60fps.

I do think that the 4xMSAA (from H2) is off the cards though. At 60fps It's double compute, and double memory bandwidth.

I don't think it is. One Forza Motorsport every two years is pretty normal.

One good thing about the Forza 6 release, It will be a good time to pick up FH2 on discount.

Depends on what they will have Q1, its just scalebound so far but we havent seen gameplay from that game so far

They're not going to skip the Holiday 2015 and they shouldn't. Microsoft can completely dominate this holiday because of Sony and Nintendo's mismanagement and I see no reason why they should delay a game that might sell consoles and helps their holiday portfolio.

I don't think it will work so well cause it didn't worked last year.

I mean yeah they sold more in USA for two months but they still lost WW and the bundle that moved consoles was a third party bundle(ASSCREED bundle).

MS games either underperformed(MCC was supose to be the best selling HD collection only behind GTA remember?),sold average(Forza Horizon) or flopped hard(Sunset overdrive and D4) cause not only they had too fight against multiplats but against each other.

That is why i think forza should be released in august with tomb raider in september and halo in october.

Then release a bundle in november for black friday.

This is the best for both software sales and hardware boost. But to be honest,i believe MS will just trow everything in 2 months spam in order to get two NPDs.

No game can compete with Europe and Japan liking Playstation more by default.

By dominating, its winning the holiday in the eyes of the core gamer. Having the most quality, big-name games.

Xbox will have Halo, Forza, and Tomb Raider. I honestly don't know what Playstation 4 has that can rival that lineup but with Uncharted bumped out of the year they are stuck pushing 3rd party games and inflating the hype of B quality exclusives.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Forza follows a predictable 2 year cycle. Forza 5 had the problem of being a launch title with obvious compromises to be made.

But Forza 6 will hopefully be like the monster shift from Forza 2 to Forza 3. Xbox 1 is and is continuing to be the racing/sim console of choice so far this gen. The series has always sold enough to profit on its own steam, and the bundles afterwards always move some consoles and more copies to continue brand awareness.
