As other people have said get one from Samsung. I had 4 1TB Samy 850 pro in a RAID 0, and never had any problem with them, I then moved them to my Laptops PS4 and XB1 they're still working great.
Btw the drives are not 550MB/s effective, they're 550mbps, which is equal to 67.5 MB/s.

Yeah, what the others said or a Crucial MX200 or BX100.

So my hard drive that I bought 5 months ago is dying (3 bad sectors and it sounds like a coffee pot.)

Oooh could I ask what software you used to check the HDD's bad sectors, I used to have some software around 3 years back but I forgot it's name and since I've done a clean boot of my PC during Jan I completely forgot the name of the software and you just reminded me that I haven't checked mine in 2 years.

CrystalDiskInfo for example.

Kinda confusing a bit, I don't know which one to go for, a few of them are write speed testers from the looks of it, like a stop watch timer, the one I used 3 years ago looked something akin to this, though not entirely as simple looking:

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

CrystalDiskInfo is just a simple tool that uses S.M.A.R.T data. Maybe you need something like the Macrorit tool for a deep analysis.

Just the portable version of the Standard Edition without ads because you have to uncheck the ads during the installation if you use the installer.

Get a Crucial SSD

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00RQA6M5Y/ref=dp_ob_neva_mobile

They have a 250 Gb one for 99$ too, but if I were you I'd pay the price difference and get a 500 Gb one.

As someone that has purchased 2 of the 850 Evo 1TB, be prepared for the read/write speeds to be almost half of what they are advertised. The price is great, but the performance is lacking. the Pro version on the other hand performs very closely to what is advertised.  <--- but is way over your price range.

I would recommend the Intel 530 240GB $130.00 or the Crucial BX100 250GB $100.0, I have purchased over 10 each  of these and performance/reliable has been pretty stellar so far.

HD Tune Pro (15 day trial) and SpeedFan(go to SMART and choose your HDD from a drop-down.)

Chlamydia. Maybe Ghonnorhea. Then you can move up to the "hard stuff" like Herpes and HIV. Some Crabs every now and then. You want to experience the whole gamut. And VD is a timeless classic.

*edit* I've made a terrible mistake.

Transcend or Samsung 1 TB

How is there that much of a difference between what they claim and what you get? Why get an SSD then? My 8 year old 250 GB hard drive benchmarks 56 MB/s in Dxtory and the HDD that is dieing right now something like 110 MB/s, for example. What should I expect with this?
