Forums - Nintendo - "Nintendo customer service rep blames retailers for amiibo shortages"

I'm not an Amiibo user, but this is interesting for those who are.

One fan recently wrote in to Nintendo’s customer service team about the amiibo shortage situation. In response to this person’s email, the following response was delivered:

The same fan wrote back to Nintendo, and made some accusations about the company manipulating amiibo demand via the supply chain. That led the representative to explain how the supply chain actually works:

Is it just me or does that last paragraph say otherwise?

Might be true. Before, the issue was with the port strikes but maybe now it's because retailers just aren't stocking enough? Either that or Nintendo just isn't keeping up with demand still.

Whatever it is, it needs to stop.

Except for the fact they seem to be only one having this problem and it also happened with the GC adapter and any other limited edition product they offer. It's honestly quite pathetic that they've haven't been able to fix the problem yet.

I blame everyone!

Nintendo for the initial stock issues
Retailers for not ordering enough
Scalpers for being whores

The Nintendo rep is not really speaking to the reason for the short supply - just saying that retailers sell them who they wish which is generally true- but retailers don t like it when any product they sell is not available so I can guarantee the retailers are not the reasons for the shortage

so she is not really answering the question asked

You still cant buy a Wii U charger in store.

So what's the problem I see amiboos.everywhere?

It's the Reggie answer spin. He does the same nonsense.

Though what he says is technically not false, Nintendo is still part of the problem with this issue... definitely will cause some rage
