Because of people like this.

I like Neogaf for threads like this one http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=965569 , i.e. threads you'd never see on VGC (and if I created a similar one here it would either die within minutes or I'd have to post all the time on my own to keep it alive).

I'm not a member there though and don't plan to become one. I just occasionally bookmark one of their threads that interests me.

The hivemind. Yes, it's real. I signed up 5 years ago (took me about 7 months to get approved) but hardly ever post. I actually just got member status last year.

The problem is the hivemind. The owner of that site also admitted to sexually harassing multiple women and even has made racist comments, even though he then pretends to be all liberal.

Negatives:
- Too many SJWs on that site.
- Your post gets lost in the mix.
- There's no way to know if someone replied to you.
- You cannot simply go back to a thread at the post where you left off.
- The hivemind.
- Lots of fakesiders who get worshipped there.

Positives:
- Fast to load without much clutter on mobile - unlike VGC.

Pretty sure anime/japanese game fans are treated as outcasts on Neogaf.

Dont like the members there

There are thing taht i like, and thing that i dislike. The way you lose the post is so quick that you can't even see is the bigger one. Other thing is the way that when they are in a trhead wacthing a big event, the low side appears and people start to post things like they were in twicth chat.

But there a couple of things that i do like:
in crowed trheads, someone will always answer you.
the tags
the way that all rumors get fact checked before been posted
its the place to interact with people taht actually work on there
the gifs that are made
the way that some first posts nail the answer is sometimes pure gold

Anyway, don't know if am allowed to say this, but can somebody help me to get them to resend me the activation link for my account? I used the e-mail from my college, but the IT department is not very good, but was the only e-mail i could use. Alreadly tried to contact the support, but never got a answer. My username there is the same as in here. Thanks!

NeoGAF likes:
- Easier for mobile users
- Usually the first place to get some info
- Actual devs and company reps post or reply there
- User will actually reply to your comment (here in VGC I'm mostly ignored, so I just lurk :D)
- Somewhat exclusive membership (Very hard to create troll accounts)

Dislkes:
- Hard to get a membership. Some say it takes long but mine only took 3 days to approve.
- Easily get lost to a hot topic as the replies are faster than I can read.

People say that devs and company reps post there - there's very few of those and even those who do post rarely and only for PR purposes.
