Forums - Nintendo - How come the 3DS has horrible support and no games coming out for it?

DS had a lot of support, but most of it was garbageware much like the Wii. The number of quality of titles should be more or less the same between the DS and 3DS.

Its really not.  If you think about it Nintendo release 2 quality racing games on DS, Mario Kart and Diddy Kong, only 1 on 3DS, 2 quality M&L games on DS, only 1 on 3DS, 3 quality Castlevania games on DS none on 3DS, 2KH games on DS and 1 on 3DS, 2 original Zelda games on DS only 1 on 3DS, 3 original pokemon games on DS and only 1 so far on 3DS (we'll be lucky to get 2)...the list goes on.

The DS also got these games over the course of 7 years (3DS has only been out 4), and it's rather unfair only comparing franchises that exist on DS to what the 3DS got, especially given that certain franchises that got lots of releases on the DS have since more or less died (such as Castlevania).

That's really all I can do atm, I'm included all announced games that have yet to release on 3DS but I can't look in the future and see what games are on the way.  The 3DS support is dieing down and the successor is rumored for next year, at this rate its not catching the DS's library.

Exactly. You don't know what's coming. You don't know what's going to happen. So comparing 7 years of DS games against 4 years of 3DS games is  not only unfair, but premature. But honestly, that's not even my biggest issue. You aren't actually comparing the quality of the game library. You're just comparing how many games both systems got from certain franchises, which isn't really relevant to the quality of the library.

The 3DS has not only gotten a number of quality franchises that DS never got (at least in the west) like Theatrerhythme, Rhythm Thief, Code of Princess, Kid Icarus, Fantasy Life, Tomadachi Life, Codename STEAM, Monster Hunter, Persona Q, and a FRIGGIN ORIGINAL 3D MARIO, its also gotten LOADS of quality releases in the digital space, which was so poor on DSi beyond a few stand out releases it's not even worth comparing.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and Xenoblade 3D both seem like not-garbage games to me, I don't see the problem.

Except they have big name exclusives that are exclusive to New3DS, Xenoblade.  That is pretty much a cock slap to every 3DS owner who thought they had a full handheld experience when they paid 300 for it when it launch.  Tsk tsk.

The DSi also had its own exclusives that were not playable on the regular DS. Granted they were all crap titles but they did have some. I brought my 3DS on day one I never looked back. I even knew that this would once again happy, I 100% expected it and thought about it when I brought my 3DS on day one. I am completely satisfied with it and I happen to have tons of great games. I honestly have never even noticed a shortage of 3rd party games and I have quite a few of them. All which are phenomenal!

Also I find that the larger screens on the 3DS XL and XLL as well of the New 3DS don't look nearly as nice resolution wise as the regular 3DS. A lot of people claim they don't see a dip in the quality but I do. I notice the pixilation big time.

To be honest I actually thought you were trolling at first, no offense intended.

Which is why I said big name exclusives.  Read.

Also, some people prefer having lot of games to choose from, not just Zelda and Mario remakes every damn day.

If you bothered to look the comment I responded to said the 3DS would have the same number of quality titles as the DS.  Also that goes the other way too, DS has Okami, Disgaea, TWEWY, Star Fox, Super Princess Peach, Metroid, Digemon also those dozens of casual games like Nintendogs, Brain Age, Elite Beat Agents, etc all count, they might not be your type of game but they excel in their genre.

The 3DS has more quality games than the DS.
90% of Non-Nintendo games for DS are crap. There are over 1297 titles available for the Nintendo DS, Nintendo DS Lite, and Nintendo DSi as of November 22, 2012.

Don't make that arguement of quality.  Nintendo DS has far more games above the 80 percent ranking on Metacritc.

Also I don't think a single non-nintendo game on 3DS that isn't download only is great tbh
